After Sam dropped her pen for the fifth time, Gemma looked across the desk with a lifted brow.

"What's gotten into you today?"

Sam shrugged. "I'm fine."

Gemma scoffed. "Yeah, right. That's why you look like your dog died."

Sam sighed before tossing her pen on the desk and shaking her head. "Did you grow up here in Charming?"

Gemma frowned but nodded. "Yeah, why?"

"I grew up in Minnesota. That's where I moved from when I came out here."

Gemma nodded. "Yeah, I know. I heard you and Tig talking about it one night. What's your point?"

Sam leaned forward in her chair. "My folks are still there. Tommy was talking about how he missed his grandparents last night and I guess it got me to thinking about Christmas when I was his age." She sighed and shook her head. "I miss the snow and cold. I miss ice skating and building a snowman before going inside to sip hot cocoa in front of the fire." She shook her head. "I suppose it sounds stupid coming from a grown woman, but I'm homesick."

Gemma shook her head as she leaned forward and squeezed Sam's hand. "It doesn't sound stupid, baby. This is your first Christmas away from home. Of course, you're going to miss some things."

Sam nodded before standing up. "Yeah, I suppose. I'm gonna go pick Tommy up from school. I'll see you tomorrow."

Gemma nodded as the younger woman walked out of the office. She stood and watched her walk to her truck before walking over and opening the connecting door to the garage. "Hey, Tiggy! Come here a second, sweetheart."

Tig walked through and shut the door, a frown on his face. "What's up, Gem?"

Gemma crossed her arms over her chest and looked at him. "Have you noticed anything off with Sam?"

Tig thought for a moment before shaking his head. "Nah, Sammie's fine. I'm her old man, Gem. I think I'd know if something was wrong."

Gemma scoffed and shook her head. "Yeah, okay."

The next day, Tig was working on his bike when Tommy jumped out of Sam's truck and ran to him, arms outstretched for a hug. Tig laughed as he picked the six-year-old up and swung him around before hugging him close.

"How's my main man?"

Tommy snickered and kissed Tig on the cheek before snuggling closer. "I'm good."

Tig nodded as he leaned over and kissed Sam when she reached them. "Hey, baby."

Sam reached out to ruffle her son's hair as she looked up at Tig. "You sure you're good with watching him today? I just need to pick up a few more gifts."

Tig grinned and nodded before looking at the little boy still in his arms. "Oh yeah, take your time. We're gonna do some guy stuff while you're gone. You know, something manly like coloring or watching cartoons."

Sam chuckled and nodded before she stepped back. "Alright. I shouldn't be more than a few hours."

Tig nodded as Tommy waved goodbye to his mother before he turned to walk into the clubhouse. When they got inside, he put Tommy down and the little boy ran straight for Happy, who was sitting on the couch in front of the television, watching cartoons. Tig nodded to the enforcer.

"You got him for about an hour? I need to take Juice with me to handle something."

Happy nodded as Tommy crawled up beside him and settled in. "Yeah, man. We're good."

Tig nodded before slapping Juice on the back. "Let's go, man. She won't be gone that long."

Two days later, Tig, Sam, and Tommy were all in the truck headed to the cabin. For the second time, Sam turned to Tig with a confused look. "I still don't understand why you couldn't just call Piney and ask him whatever you needed to know."

Tig shrugged and avoided eye contact as he turned onto the lane going to the cabin. "It's just easier this way, babe. Ok, I need to ask you to do something weird."

Sam snickered as Tig slowed the truck to a stop right before the cabin came into sight. "Well, it's not the first time for that, although it is the first time with Tommy within earshot."

Tig chuckled and winked at her. "Touche. Okay, seriously, I need both of you to cover your eyes."

Sam sighed as she looked at Tig distrustfully. Tommy, for his part, had already covered his eyes since he usually did whatever Tig asked him to without question. Sam didn't have the same hero-worship that her son did.

"Seriously?"

Tig nodded. "Yes. Just do it, woman." Sam sighed again before putting her hands over her eyes. She felt the truck start moving again for a few minutes before it slowed to a stop and Tig turned off the engine. "Okay, Tommy, you first, little man. Open your eyes."

She heard Tommy moving then heard an excited squeal from her six-year-old. "Mommy! It's snowing!"

Sam's hands fell quickly, then she sat staring ahead of the truck dumbly. There was indeed snow falling from above the cabin, coating the porch and most of the front yard. She turned to Tig in bewilderment. "Tig... how... ?"

Tig chuckled as he got out and lifted Tommy down before walking around and opening the passenger side door. He took her hand and gently pulled her from the truck cab as Tommy ran for the snow. "I can't give you cold or ice skating, but there's enough snow to build a snowman, and there's a fire and hot cocoa inside." He pulled her close and let his forehead rest on hers. "I know you've been missing home, so this was the best I could do. Oh, and I invited your parents for Christmas. They'll be here tomorrow morning."

Sam sniffed and wiped her eyes before reaching up to wrap her arms around Tig's neck. "Do you know how much I love you right now? This was beyond thoughtful, baby."

Tig shrugged as he grinned down at her. "I love you too, Sammie. I'd do anything to make you smile." He winced as he looked at all of the snow in the front yard. "Although, Piney's gonna kick my ass for making this mess."

Sam laughed out loud as he picked her up and swung her around. "It's not a mess. It's perfect."

Before Tig could answer, he got nailed with a snowball in the back of the head by a giggling Tommy. As he put her down and ran after her son, Sam thought that she'd never had a more perfect Christmas.
