Chapter 5: House Hunting

I woke up to the sounds of my stomach grumbling, I reached for my phone to see what time it was, 6 am. I knew Kassam wouldn't be awake for at least another three to four hours, he never woke up early. Me on the other hand, it was rare for me not to be up by six or seven. I usually woke up at six to head to the gym or go for a morning run. But right now all I could think about was food, I was so hungry. I realized we hadn't eaten dinner, we did have the big lunch at his parents house but after all the excitement when we got back I guess we fell asleep before we even had a chance to eat again. I got up and headed to the kitchen, I looked in the fridge first, there had to be something in there I could eat...I was wrong, all that was in there was some milk and a pizza box with one half eaten slice left in it. I thought maybe I could find some cereal in the cabinet and use the milk for that, but then I pulled out the milk and saw it expired a couple days ago. So that was a no go, i continued to look through the cabinets and all I found was some cheese and onion crisps. I did love cheese and onion crisps but not exactly what I had in mind for breakfast. I pulled out my phone and googled "coffee shop near me". Score...there was one about two miles away, I could get my morning workout in by running there and then walk back with our food. I quickly found my luggage, pulled out my workout gear and sneakers and put them on. I left a note for Kassam on the table in case he woke up and headed out the door. The run was so relaxing and it was nice to be running in a new environment, taking in all the sites. I always felt so at ease when I ran and even though things had been going so smoothly since coming here, I was still tense and worried about my future with Kassam. But the run made all my worries wash away. I made it to the coffee shop pretty quick, about 15 minutes, close to my average time. As I was headed into the coffee shop my phone buzzed, it was a text from Priya.
Hey girl! I know Kassam told you all about our plans for today. I can't wait to show y'all these houses, you are going to love them. But anyways, what are you doing right now?

Priya!! Omg girl, I can't believe you are in town and I get to see you! I had no idea that you and Kassam were house hunting! Biggest and best surprise ever! I just stepped into a coffee shop to grab some stuff because Kassam had nothing at his place. What about you?

I am right down the street from Kassam's place. He found me a hotel close by to stay at. What coffee shop are you at? I'll come meet you and we can go ride back to Kassam's together. I'm assuming you ran there, right? Gotta get those steps in girl!

Haha yes, you know me too well. I'll send you my location and see you soon.

I sent Priya my location and waited for her to show up. It didn't take long before I saw my gorgeous friend strut through the coffee shop door. She looked even more glamorous than she did at the villa. I don't know how she did it. I was looking a hot mess, all sweaty and in workout clothes and she had on a dress that showed off all her assets, and a pair of high heels that cost more money than I make in a month.

As soon as she saw she squealed..."Fiona, I've missed you so much! I can't wait to catch up!"

She came over to my table and we hugged. It was so great to see her again. "I've missed you too hun! I can't believe you're here."

We sat at our table and ordered some coffee and pastries and just chatted away, catching up and laughing about all kinds of things. Priya was one of the goofiest people I've ever met and I loved her for it. After we finished our coffee and food, I glanced down at my watch, it was already 10 am. Man how time flies when you're catching up. I was surprised Kassam hadn't texted me yet, I guessed he was still sleeping. I ordered a coffee and bagel for him and Priya and I got in the car to head back to his place.

When we arrived, I was right, Kassam was still fast asleep. I told Priya I was going to shower and get ready and that she could just hang out, I shouldn't be long. Priya had no problem making herself at home. She went straight to the reclining chair, put her feet up and turned on the TV. That was Priya for you, shameless. I walked into the bedroom and tried my best to tiptoe past Kassam and into the bathroom without waking him up. Just as I was about to turn on the shower, I heard him start to stir and wake up. I peeked my head back out, "Good Morning Sleepy Head."
