The next day, my phone was begging for me to get up at 8 a.m. to finally start this job. I got out of bed and the sun was just barely rising into my bedroom, welcoming a pinkish orange tint to reflect off of the white walls and carpet. My eyes slowly adjusted and I grinned with excitement. This place felt like a whole different life.

I got out of bed and stretched my arms in the air, releasing all of my tiredness and headed for the beautiful bathroom once again, starting the shower and washing myself peacefully.

Once I was finished, I began the same routine as any other morning. Brushing teeth, drying hair, doing makeup, etc. I then picked out my outfit and started some coffee to officially wake myself up. I grew with excitement with every minute that passed, dressing myself in formal clothes and drinking my coffee. I checked my phone as I sat on a stool by the kitchen.

Andrew: Good luck today!

Me: Thank you, I will need it. I am kind of nervous.

Andrew: You can do anything y/n, a maid should not phase you.

Me: You're right, love you.

Andrew: Love you too.

After finally preparing myself for the day, I took my keys and my wallet and locked my new apartment behind me, heading for this new perspective of a job. As I walked down, I had remembered that Rachel told me she lived on the same floor last night but didn't say which room was hers. I observed every door that I passed and realized that they were all identical and it wouldn't help at all.

I continued to the elevator, pressing the button that took me to the first floor by the parking garage. After arriving, the doors opened and revealed the same doors that Rachel led us in last night. I opened the silver doors and my car was only a few spots down. Just to make sure this was still real, I hit the unlock button on the fob and sure enough the car lit up, letting me know that this was not a dream.

I approached the car and let myself in and dared to touch the start button. I lifted a finger and gently pressed it and it the engine came to life, softly purring in the silent garage. I grinned to myself and put the directions into the GPS, exiting the garage and finding my way to the agency.

The traffic wasn't horrible but I wouldn't want to be new to a big city being a driver. Cars honked on different streets and pedestrians were practically daredevils crossing the street without a cross walk. The car was comfortable and quiet, only making noise when it told me where to turn. It was only a few minutes until I reached the same gorgeous, Gothic building from last night with Rachel.

I parked my car in the nearby lot and brought myself in along with papers issuing that I was a maid which would give me entry to the entire building. Climbing up the steps, a security guard with a tablet stopped me and asked for my full name.

"Y/F/L/N," I said and he typed it in casually, scrolling through a list which must be a roster for who may enter the building.

"Right this way," He said and opened the door for me.

"Thank you," I said and he nodded.

The building smelled clean and brand new as I approached a white desk at the front, an older lady with short blonde hair that had been held down with a whole can of hairspray eyeing me with kindness.

"How can I help you?" She asked, as my eyes shifted on her dark burgundy lipstick that covered her wrinkled lips.

"Hi, I'm the new maid," I said and held out papers. My skin crawled with uneasiness, knowing I truly was not a maid and here to spy on the man who practically owned this building. She took a hold of the papers and examined them carefully with her thin readers glasses.
