The next few days were long since I didn't have a subject to write about or study. Morgan had been researching more about my subject, Midas. He had also began to book the flight and get my new apartment set up, which was conveniently close to Midas's in case I needed to snoop around.

I began to pack up some documents in my office, making sure Midas's portfolio was in a secure spot. I had about thirty minutes to put some things away before Morgan would take me to lunch, he asked me if I would go this morning. He often reminded me of a grandfather when he offered to take me to breakfast or lunch during work hours. Not to put myself on a pedestal, but he favors me at our agency and treats me like family, although he is unreasonably kind to everyone here.

The moment that 12:00 p.m. had hit, Morgan barged into my office, desperate for lunch. He must have been counting the seconds until noon.

"Are you ready for lunch, y/n?" He asked, rubbing his hands together excitedly.

"Yes, of course, are you?" I asked him.

"Of course not!" He said sarcastically and laughed. I had to give him a chuckle, he was such a wholesome old man.

We headed out of the building together for lunch, talking about my journey that lies ahead of me. We got into his slick, clean black Mercedes SUV and drove to one of his favorite diners.

"I forgot to ask, where is this subject going to be exactly?" I asked Morgan.

"Oh my, I forgot to tell you! You will be in New York City. I apologize, my dear," He said and continued driving, flicking his turn signal to go left.

"New York?! That so far away!" I said with excitement and fear.

"I know my dear but you will be earning so so much money, and you will be living in a gorgeous apartment with a view of the city!" He said.

"I don't know how I'll be able to handle it out there by myself..." I said, thinking about how I will be alone most of the time besides while I'm working when Midas is in his office.

"You'll be fine, dear, besides it sounds like you spend a lot of time alone anyway," He said while slowly turning into the diner parking lot.

"I'm not alone, I live with Andrew," I said.

"Just because he is there doesn't mean you aren't lonely," He said as he pulling into a parking spot in the front row.

"What do you mean?" I asked, turning and looking him in his glossy aged eyes.

"You will see, I promise you will understand when you are truly alone," He said and unbuckled himself from his seat and opened the door. He walked over to my side as I unbuckled myself and he opened the door for me.

"My lady," He said with a generous grin.

"You are such a gentleman," I said as he took my hand and led me out of the vehicle. We walked into the diner together, seating ourselves in a booth. For a wealthy man like Morgan, he loved a cheap meal. He swore that this diner had some kind of outside element that made the experience so thrilling to him. The staff was always kind, the food was always perfect, and the bill was always cheap. That was all he needed for a good meal.

A short brown-haired waitress by the name of Wendy approached our table with a bright smile.

"Hey, guys! It's been a while, how y'all been?" She asked as she pulled out her notepad to write down our order.

"We've been fantastic, Wendy, yourself?" Morgan replied.

"Oh, I can't complain. What drinks can I start you guys off with?" She asked.
