"What are you doing here?"

It was as if they'd subconsciously coordinated their ensembles today. Wiss grinned as she approached her mysterious friend, his body cloaked in a dark blue poncho of sorts. It arched from his hips to his knees, his hood masking his face entirely. He slowly lifted it to reveal his charming smile as she approached him, pushing himself off the wall. Wiss touched his arm as she approached him, his hand gently clasping over hers. Wiss's heart fluttered.

"You didn't tell me you possessed magic," he cooed, his eyes twinkling at hers. Wiss paused.

"You saw that yesterday?"

Kitt tilted his head, smiling. This caused Wiss to blush furiously.

"Well you didn't tell me you were following me."

"I wasn't." He spoke in such a cheery manner it was very unlike him. Yes he was normally pleasant but never at this level. It was as if he'd just received one hundred pounds of free gold. "Even if I was I wouldn't tell you."

Wiss chuckled as she began walking, wrapping her arm around his as she dragged him along. "See now that is unsettling. You're lucky I'm so fond of you."

Kitt grinned as he lowered his head, a feeble attempt at masking his own layer of blush. Wiss didn't exactly know where they were going, nor did she care. She was in delightfully pleasant company, the only form of warm company she received, especially as of late. Why couldn't Kitt just stay?

"So...what else can you do?"

Wiss frowned at her friend. "What do you mean?"

"With your powers. What else can you do?"

Wiss shrugged as they walked, taking a very short glance at the destroyed cart across the street, now turned into a pile of wood. She cringed to herself. She couldn't find an answer she was comfortable with. She didn't want Kitt to believe she was some sort of monster for harming children. That hadn't been her desire - all she'd wanted was to shove them off, not fling them like bags of flour through the air. She did feel guilty but...there was a small pinch of her that didn't.

"Well," Kitt began, gently reaching for Wiss's hand. "Let's go find out, then."

Wiss's dark thoughts quickly washed away as Kitt lead her through the maze of back alleyways, Wiss giggling the entire way. She watched as Kitt's locks bounced and weaved as they ran, his touch against hers like the warmth of a newly dried blanket. Kitt's entire existence exuded comfort, whether he liked it (or was aware of it) or not. He was her oldest friend, her longest companion. He'd always been there.

As the two approached a nearby vendor, Kitt ducked down behind a barrel, pulling Wiss down with him. Her heart thumping like rabbits, Wiss followed his gaze to a cart across the street with displays of fruit baskets atop its ledge.

"Now," Kitt whispered, his gaze locked. "Can you see if you can make that apple float?"

Wiss laid her eyes on the fruit, immediately chuckling to himself. "I can do much more than that."

Actually, Wiss wasn't quite sure if she could do it. Honestly, she was just riding on pure luck that something cool might happen. She wanted to impress him but the performance anxiety crept up on her all too quickly. Still with bated breath Wiss slowly raised her hand, focusing as the tinge behind her eye returned. And once it was just strong enough, Wiss clenched her fingers as the apple exploded into millions of little chunks. The pieces flew everywhere from the floor, into the air, and onto the unsuspecting faces of the vendor, the customer, and the customer's babe. The woman shrieked to mighty heaven, clutching at her chest as if a bomb had dropped. Fair enough, seeing as there was no lead up to the apple catastrophe. Wiss gasped as Kitt snorted, grabbing her hand and quickly leading her down another alley under the cover of darkness. They watched as the vendor himself came to the realization of what had happened, exclaiming with gumption, "those darn worms!! They be filling their bellies till they explode, they are!"
