"With ailments pierced may life burn bright, with ailments pierced may life burn bright!"
Wiss clutched the dagger tightly as she pointed it at the bowl, then dunked it into the gurlov mixture, then waved it in the air like a wand. She repeated the incantation over and over but nothing seemed to be working. Kitt had been watching her the entire time as she sat cross legged on the floor. He remained silent (not that he had any other choice). Wiss groaned with frustration as she looked to the ceiling, trying to maintain her composure. She could feel Kitt's eyes on her. As she turned to face him, she slumped her hand to the floor, the dagger making a soft clanking sound.
"It's not working," she huffed. "I've been going at this much longer than I'd originally anticipated and nothing's happening!" She turned back to the bowl and the open spell book. She was irritated and exhausted but she didn't want to give up. Maybe the incantation had to be spoken in Piri's secret language.
During Wiss's many attempts the dagger had radiated its familiar glow but very dimly, barely bright enough to illuminate her face. She thought as she rose to her feet, bringing the dagger to Kitt. "Here," she began, placing the blade in his open hand, "you try."
The second the dagger came in contact with Kitt he winced loudly through his nose, squinting his eyes shut as he recoiled. Startled, Wiss quickly removed the dagger and she now stared at a fresh wound sizzling in Kitt's palm. The blade left a small round wound, the patch of skin sizzling a bright pink and...actually sizzling. It almost sounded like Sneev's grill. Wiss gasped as she threw the blade to the ground, staring at the wound.
"Kitt I'm so sorry!" she blurted. As she took his hand in hers, she noticed that although the dagger was no longer in contact with him, the steam from his hand still rising high into the air. How utterly interesting...and disturbing. It made Wiss wonder what would've happened if she had stabbed Kitt back in Hural. If him just touching the dagger left this type of mark...what sort of damage would it cause once punctured? Wiss was disturbed. She would make sure they would never have to find out. She'd tried desperately to ignore it before but...she supposed Kitt really was the dagger's intended target.
Wiss looked at him with an apologetic gaze before leaning down and kissing his pulsating hand before quickly rising to her feet to grab the bandage wrap in his desk. She knew he kept it there because as handy as he was, Kitt wasn't very careful when it came to fire and sharp objects (clearly, they hated him). But just as she reached the drawer and pulled out the wrap, Kitt attempted to clear his throat. The first grunt wasn't very powerful but the one to follow it was much louder. Wiss quickly turned her head around to see Kitt's hand in the air, his palm facing her. Astonished, Wiss returned to him and carefully examined his skin. It was as if...nothing had ever happened. Wiss frowned as she turned his hand over, unable to fully comprehend what had just happened. In the blink of an eye his skin had healed...from her kiss?
"Amazing," she whispered, turning his hand over again and again, certain that if she blinked just one more time, the wound would reappear. But it didn't. At this point, Wiss wasn't entirely shocked she had magic healing kiss abilities - she was a phenomenal kisser. At least...in her mind she was. "Well, despite how marvellous my magic is, I still need to wrap you up," she nodded, carefully holding his wrist as she wrapped the bandage round Kitt's palm. His eyes left her only once to glance past her at the assortment of 'spell ingredients' on the ground. She caught his wandering gaze. "I will try it again, I promise."
As Wiss finished bandaging his hand, Kitt reached up and slowly placed his good hand on her arm, seeking her attention. Wiss granted it, looking into his eyes with a soft gaze. Despite Kitt's poor condition he was gradually looking better and better, slowly crawling closer to his regular, spry and heathy form. She could tell by the small but distinct twinkle that had returned to his eyes. As Kitt looked up at her, he placed his hand overtop of hers, exhaling from his nose, blinking softly.
