What was making that freaking wailing noise? Everleigh was trying to sleep. Homework had drained the life out of her. But seriously, was someone crying or something? She decided to check and got up and opened her window.
There was a boy in the middle of the street...he was crying? Everleigh didn’t understand why until she saw the headlights speeding down the road towards him. “Oh my god,” she thought, he was trying to take his own life. He was cute...but now was not the time for that. She raced downstairs as fast as she could and onto the street.
The headlights were getting close now. She wondered if she would die trying to save him. Well, too late for second thoughts now.
She leaped into the middle of the street where he was and grabbed him. His eyes went wide in shock and he went stock still, like he was frozen. She did a rushed combination of pushing and pulling and half carrying him to get him off the road.
Once they were on the sidewalk on the other side, he sank to his knees and Everleigh bent over, trying to catch her breath. He was heavy. Or maybe she was just out of shape.
His eyes were still leaking tears and he was rocking a bit. His eyes really were a beautiful shade of hazel-gold. Silvery moonlight glinted off his tears. They were between streetlights, in front of the only abandoned house in the neighborhood, and it was dark. She wasn’t sure what to do now. Should she have even saved him? If he had really wanted to die...No, she wasn’t going down that road. But what did you even say to someone who had just tried to take his own life? She decided to start with asking where he lived because surely, whatever parents he had could help him better then she could.
She squatted down so she was at eye level with him. His chocolate hair was tousled and it somehow made him even more attractive. His jawline too, was sharp. His Adams apple bobbed as he swallowed.
She began with “Where do you live?” He seemed startled, but then his eyes hardened by just a fraction, but she could tell he was closing himself off. She sat down. The leaking tears had stopped, she noticed.
He straightened up and settled into criss-cross.
“Why did you save me?”, he asked.

Hello! This probably isn't going to be a long story, and, as you can tell I'm a horrible writer, [plus I'm only doing this to procrastinate schoolwork] but this is actually inspired by a comment I saw somewhere and its attached as media if you want to see. I'd hesitate to call it a oneshot but we'll see what happens. It's mostly based off that comment if you want mild spoilers🙃[he is 17 in this tho]
Thanks for reading this far 💛
[If I get 5 votes I'll make them aesthetic boards]
