Listen to this (yes I know it's Glitchtale but the feel of the song fits this chapter) while you read! Side note: I'm listening to a music box version of Reunited from the Undertale OST and I'm almost crying ;^;

The final boss, the last thing keeping Frisk from freeing the monsters.

*The knowledge that Frisk has come this far, that they refused to give up no matter the hardships they faced, and that all their friends are counting on them, fills them with DETERMINATION

Instead of their soul shattering when they died only to reload at the last save, Frisk's soul was so determined that it never even shattered. It simply mended itself. But even after they save the monsters, there's more Frisk wants to do. They had heard about a mysterious someone called Y/n, whom no one else seemed to know, they wanted to bring Y/n back. As well they had heard about Chara, whom they also wanted to bring back.

But it couldn't be that easy, could it?

*Within the depths of Asriel's soul, something is resonating!

Frisk called out to it, by name.

"Y/n!" They called. A figure appeared in front of them, with [insert physical description here]. Y/n was there, but with the small remnant of their determination remaining, they couldn't exist like the others, they were left as a ghost. Frisk tried to reason with them, but no one had any idea what they had been through.

"I promise it's going to be okay!" Frisk said. Something about those words seemed so familiar to the lost soul...all at once, your memories came flooding back as Frisk held their soul out to you. The soul broke in half, one half going to you and the other half returning to Frisk.

"Why would you do this?" You asked, holding the soul half.

"Because you've been through enough, you deserve another chance." They replied.

"And now there's only one left to save, good luck! You can do this!" You said encouragingly. Frisk shook their head and held their hand out to you.

"I've come this far by myself, but we're saving your sibling together." They said with a determined smile. You nodded and took their hand.

"Chara?" You asked. They appeared in front of you, but their reflection was twisted. Their eyes were covered in a dark red substance that was also dripping down their cheeks and out of their mouth. They held a knife as well. Without a word, Chara attacked. Instead of fighting back, you hugged them. A small clatter signaled that Chara had dropped their knife, and they hugged you back.

*Chara's determination willed them back into reality!

~

As Chara stood facing Asriel, a strange feeling overtook them. It was as if everyone in the Underground was silently willing them to win this fight. But Chara felt there was one monster left to save...they reached out and called it's name....

"Asriel?"

"Huh?! What are you doing?!" He exclaimed as Chara summoned a new button, the save button, glowing a multitude of colors...

...A long time ago, two humans fell to the RUINS

Injured by their fall, the humans called out for help

ASRIEL, the king's son, heard their call

He brought the human siblings back to the castle

Over time, ASRIEL and the humans became like siblings

The King and Queen treated the human children as their own

The Underground was full of HOPE

Then...one day...

One human became very ill

But there was nothing we could do

The sick human had only one request

To see the flowers from their village

The next day...

The human died

ASRIEL, wracked with grief, absorbed the human's soul

He transformed into a being with immense power

With the human soul, ASRIEL crossed through the barrier

He carried the human's body into the sunset

Back to the village of the humans

ASRIEL reached the center of the village

There, he found a bed of golden flowers

He carried the human onto it

Suddenly, screams rang out

The village saw ASRIEL holding the human's body

They thought he had killed the child

The humans attacked him with everything they had

He was struck with blow after blow

ASRIEL had the power to destroy them all, but he did not fight back

Clutching the human, ASRIEL smiled, and walked away...
