Phoenix Rising

Untitled Part 1

Phoenix spread her wings, revealing the smoky color underneath her huge wingspan.  Today was her placement day. SmokeWings were the only tribe of dragons to ever have this tradition, because the were special. Once a dragon turned 5 years old, their veins would show up. Some would be amber, yellow, or even a orangey-red. Since SmokeWings were so orderly, that your vein color would determine you placement in the tribe.  Dumb Sunwings,  and Earthwings hadn't even thought of something so brilliant. Or Splatterwings. After all, Queen Ash was a genius.  Amber, her older sister sped up to Phoenix. She had been placed as a caretaker in the hatchery, but she always complained. Sometimes, a dragon would become next in throne, because they had rainbow scales, but that was really rare. Phoenix sped to the heat cave. She was so excited! Maybe her veins would be amber, like, um, Amber. Or yellow, or red! Pretty limited colors.  The tribe healer, a old wise, dragonet called Cinder, with rough dark grey scales and yellow veins.  "Come here, Darling. Let's see your scales." Cinder gently put her in the molten pool, and Phoenix dived under. SmokeWings were probably the strongest tribe, because they had fire resistant scales, could make their scales smoke, and set things on fire as they wish. Phoenix swam for a moment, and bobbed her head back up. She eagerly stood up, but Cinder looked confused and scared and happy at the same time. Why is she looking at me like that?? She probably ate a sick lizard. "Phoenix... your scales." She turned around to face a small puddle of water, looking down, what she saw was majestic. Swirls of red, purple, blue, and orange where running through her veins. There were some colors she couldn't even describe.  "Cinder.... am I a..."  Phoenix didn't even know what to say. The old healer made a grunting noise. "Yes..... you're the new princess."

(They do this by veins, not blood line or anything) Also I might not update this a lot so Also this is on the island of Kisaga, Not on any island in the books (this is a wings of fire fanfic!) <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

Tribes:

SmokeWings: Small dragons with Red/Orange/yellow or the occasional rainbow veins (That determine there rank) and big dark blue eyes (They're scales are grey) They can set things on fire with their minds, (But not other dragon) and disappear into smoke. 

SwirlWings: Are a mix of any three colors, swirled together. They have rainbow eyes. They are very small, like SmokeWings. They can run around their enemies, and confuse them.(Kind of brain Washing them) They also have superspeed.  Also they are supposed to be called SwirlWings, but in the story there is a typo that says they are SplatterWings, and my computer won't let me correct it. 

Earthwings: They are huge dragons and All black Sometimes with brown spots. They Have green eyes. The Earthwings Can burrow and live in caves, For protection they can grow a full coat of rock armor in a few seconds. They're kind of lame, but oh well.

Sunwings: Bright Yellow, with even brighter yellow stripes. They have Amber eyes and are Not social whatsoever. They can be blinding when in the sun, and use heat to burn things. (They weld metal)
