Far from home (on hold)

Chapter 1

I sat by my window, watching the rain steadily fall from the dark, gloomy sky. I rested my chin on my hands, not wanting to go to my first day at my new school.

I heard a knock on my door and I turn around to see my mom carrying a plate of food.

"I brought you your favorite," she sat it on the window seal next to me. I diddn't feel like eating, so i pushed it aside.

"oh come on honey. you've got to eat. you never pass french toast with strawberries."

"I'm not hungry," I diddn't look at her. She sighed.

"I know that your upset about the move and going to a new school, but I'm pretty sure that you will make alot of really good friends,"

"I had perfectly good friends back in Oakstown!" I shouted.

"Honna, your going to have to except that we live here now, and were never going back to Oaks town!" she got up and left the room. I guess she is right. were not moving back, so i'll have to like it here.

I decided to find the clothes that i was going to wear to school. I pulled out a bunch of clothes, and i finally decided. I wore dark blue skinny jeans, matched with a light blue belt, a dark red one shoulder shirt and simple black flats.

I went to my desk and curled my dark brown hair and put my makeup on. I stood up and looked in the mirror, double checking things, and then went down stairs.

My mom was reading the news paper. I walked over there and stood behind her, glancing at the news paper. I saw an entry of a strange creature in town, that have killed 3 people.

"mom, whats the creature thing about." I pointed at the entry. she looked at it and laughed.

"It's probably some kids messing around in a costume." she got up and went to fill her coffee up.

"but it's killed three people." I said worried. she had a frown on her face now.

"well all I know is that your not going into town by your self." she headed for the door. "Come on, your going to be late."

that was the least i'd care about. but i grabbed my backpack from the counter and went to the car.

It was silent on the way to school. when we turned into the driveway, I saw the sign 'Barker high' . people were taking there turns getting out of the cars, until it was my turn. I opened the door.

"Have a good day, and remember to make new friends."

I rolled my eyes and closed the door. I could see the car still sitting there when i was about to open the school door. i waved a hand and motioned her to go, because she was backing up cars. she left. she acts like I'm going to my first day on kindergarten.

I push open the heavy doors, and my eyes go wide. there was chaos. I couldn't hear a thing, people were throwing paper all over the place and people were making out right in the middle of the hallway. I tried to ask someone for directions but they just ignored me. man the people in this school are rude.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see a girl with shoulder length blond hair

"Hi." she smiled "I'm Tess."

I smiled

"your new here right?" she asked

"yeah" i replied "I'm Honna."

"Thats a pretty name." she gleamed

"Thanks." i have a feeling that we were going to be good friends.

The bell rang and it was time for everyone to be in their classes. That reminded me. I still had to find the principles office so I could get my class schedule and my locker number. so I ask Tess
