Chapter 56

Continuing from the last part...

Mahir :

I went to pragathi's room in the evening.. yeah as now Bela is back we decided to stay in different rooms and I was happy when pragathi herself suggested this. I saw her sitting on the bed reading a novel.

Mahir - Pragathi!

Pragathi - mahir come inside..

Mahir - actually I wanted to ask you about..

Pragathi - I know mahir.. I'll tell you. Since past five years I was in a relationship with raghbir.. we both love eachother mahir, when dad was finding matches for me I even told him that I love raghbir..

I was happy when dad asked to get raghbir home coz he wanted to meet him. But when dad got to know that raghbir was an orphan he dint want me to marry him.. he just said he don't want an orphan to be my husband...

I tried convincing a lot but I couldn't, and one dad even threatened me that he would harm raghbir if I don't accept to marry the one he will choose for me.. and then I had to accept..

I din't want raghbir to know that my dad rejected him coz he was an orphan.. when dad fixed my marriage with you I lost all my hopes and I even stared ignoring raghbir.. he even came to cancel the marriage that day but dad dint let him in also..

Mahir - you still love him?

She just nodded her head and I saw her face fell telling all this.

Mahir  - you should have told me all this before only right?

Pragathi - when my own dad was against my happiness then how would I expect you to help me? And moreover I already know you were in pain for Bela and I can't tell you all this then

Mahir - ok don't worry, I promise you that you will be back with raghbir again.. you will marry him and live a happy life

Pragathi - but mahir..

Mahir - shh!! All this month I never even bothered to know about you.. we weren't even like friends, but now you are my friend.. I can never forget what you did to me pragathi, you got my life back.. you helped me find Bela again.. and lemmi do this..

Pragathi - thanks.. but first let Bela remember everything..

Mahir - yeah she will very soon.. give me raghbir's number

Pragathi - but mahir..

Mahir - don't worry, I know how to handle

She nodded and gave me the number, Notting down I went out from her rooms and bumped into someone. I looked up and found Bela already looking at me..

Mahir - Bela...? You here at this time, you need something?

Bela - actually I.. I

Mahir - you can tell me

I held her through her shoulders and she looked into my eyes.

Bela - I was just hungry, so I was going to the kitchen..

Mahir - dint you eat your dinner?

Bela - I did but...

Mahir - I understood.. Bela you don't need to hesitate here, feel free this is also like your house.. now come with me

I again picked her up in my arms coz I don't wanna loose a single chance of Bela being with me, close to me..

Bela looked at me as if she knew I would do this and this time surprisingly she didn't protest me from doing so..

Mahir - won't you protest now?

Bela - if even I do you would still lift me.. so what's the use?

She said innocently and I smiled at her.

Mahir - quite intelligent you are...

I said smirking and she rolled her eyes hiding her blush.. she can't hide from me!!

We went near the kitchen and I made her stand. She went and got hold of a bread packet.

Mahir - lemmi toast it..

Bela - that's ok, I'll do it

Mahir - yeah that's ok.. so I'll do

She smiled at me and I put the bread slices in the toaster while she sat on the kitchen base.

Mahir - can I ask you something?

Bela - yeah sure..

Mahir - the doctor said that you are suffering amnesia.. what actually happened??

Bela - um.. actually..

Mahir - that's ok if you ar'nt comfortable..

Bela - no no, it's isn't like that.. it was an accident.. I don't remember what happened before that, but someone found me lying down bleeding so they took me to that village hospital..

I was in a critical situation, and itseems the doctor said that it was hard for me to survive but luckily after ten days I got my consious but..

Mahir - but?

Bela - I lost my child..

I expected this coz I knew Bela was pregnant then and if she delivered then she would have the baby with her. I don't know when tears flowed through my eyes...

Bela - It seems I was a month pregnant then and because I fell from a height I had a miscarriage..

By this time she was crying bitterly and I just hugged her and was rubbing her back to call her down when I myself was crying. She hugged me back and was sobbing softly. I slowly backed off and kissed her forehead.

Mahir - I'm so sorry Bela, I made you remember all those again..

Bela - that's ok mahir ji, it wasn't your mistake.. it's been more than two years this happened and I was staying in that village only with the person who saved me that day.. but I can't stay with them my entire life right, so I came to Mumbai a week back only..
