An Unexpected Change

He broke our kiss, with a sorrow-filled face.

“I’m sorry, Kaylyn. I’m really sorry.”

I couldn’t speak and he embraced me. Why was he apologizing? ‘

“I wish I could tell you everything…but I can’t. He told me, as I listened in confusion. I hugged him back tight, but didn’t reply. I just didn’t know what to say.

He looked at me and was about to say something when Tony walked up behind us.

“Well, I’m not surprised to see you two together!” tony exclaimed.

I saw Blossom Lynn behind Tony. It made me wonder if something happened between them. I gave her a questioning look.

Kaiden backed into me and I stumbled backwards. He suddenly let go of me and ran into the woods.

I looked at Tony. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” I yelled, angrily. He didn’t respond. He just started to try to get close to me.

{Kaiden’s POV}

This can’t be happening! I thought to myself as I ran into the woods. I can’t change! Not now!

I watched the trio through the woods, as I suddenly changed. What was I supposed to do now? If I went back out there, they would call animal control.

I looked back at the group then saw Tony trying to get close to Kaylyn.

‘Come on! Let me at ‘em!’ My wolf immediately called.

I shook my head. “No!”

‘He’s messing with our mate! Our Luna! That guy needs to be killed!’

“And I’ll stop him!”

I ran out of the woods and jumped in front of Kaylyn, then growled at Tony. As Tony backed away, I looked up at Kaylyn. I could tell she was frightened, but glad that I managed to get Tony away from her. I whimpered softly, just so she could hear me, but I don’t think she recognized me.

Once Tony had ran away scared, I ran back into the woods, managing to change back, and put on some clothes I had hid in a tree for emergencies.

{Kaylyn’s POV}

I went back inside after the whole wolf-thing, even though I was still in shock. Suddenly, I saw Kaiden walk through the front door, music playing from his phone. I realized the party had really died down and most people left.

“Hey.” Kaiden said, greeting me. I stared into his eyes, ice blue, just like the wolf’s. He grabbed my hand, asking me to dance again. I stayed in his arms until the song was over.

Blossom Lynn came in and gasped. She immediately asked me for a private talk, pulling me into the bathroom.

“Kaylyn, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!” She yelled.

“No, Blossom Lynn. I am not.”

“Are you falling for him?”

“NO!” I lied. Actually, I wasn’t sure how I felt.

Then, she started talking about my feelings. Like she was the one to talk! Obsessing about the same guy since FIRST GRADE!

I walked out of the bathroom quickly, ignoring her, and walking to the stairs. Blossom Lynn pushed past me and started arguing with Kaiden. I couldn’t stop her.

Once she walked away from him, I walked up instead.

“She doesn’t trust you” I told him.

“I know. I overheard your conversation.” He told me. I knew I was blushing. This guy hints way too much! It wasn’t that hard to figure out.

That night, Blossom Lynn and I slept on the two big couches in Kaiden’s living room. Trust me! If I had the opportunity to sleep in his bed…I WOULD HAVE! Blossom Lynn was passed out from all the vodka she had brought. I felt Kaiden kiss my forehead then walked off.
