Chapter 14 "Comfort"

Shuichi's Pov

It was about an hour after Rantaro broke the news to Kichi. The purple haired boy was asleep on my lap with puffy eyes from crying. I felt happy to have him so close to me, but I still cant shake this feeling of guilt.

I wanted to confess to him the second he woke up, but I knew that wasnt the right thing to do. That's not what Kichi needed at that time.

I let out a sigh as my thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing. I quickly answered it, not wanting to wake Kichi up.

"Hello..?" I whispered, while petting the top of the short purple haired boys head.

"Shuichi! You finally picked up! I've called you multiple times!" Kaede spoke, seeming a bit more energetic than usual.

"Ah, you did? Sorry.." I sighed.

"Anyways! You have a crush on Ouma, right?" She spoke happily.

"... Yeah, what about it?" I whispered and looked down at Kichi.

"Well, I have a plan to break him and Rantaro up!" She shouted, obviously excited.

"Kaede, Rantaro and Kichi broke up an hour ago." I explained. "But thanks for the help I guess..? Even though I most likely wouldn't have agreed to your plan either way."

"Wait- Really? Oh.. Well than go comfort him! Make sure he knows you care so he can fall for you!" Kaede cheered, already moving onto a new plan.

"Yeah, I've already done that. He's asleep on my lap." I chuckled quietly.

"Oh- Well I guess you're already one step ahead of me.. Sorry for interrupting your cuddle time!~" She teased.

I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Yeah yeah, bye Kaede."

"Awe! Alright bye Shui-" I hung up.

I sat with the sleeping Kokichi for a while, I'm not sure how long I stayed with him, since I lost track of time.

I was dozing off before I felt the short boy shuffle a bit, then open his big purple eyes to face me.

"Huh..? Saihara..? Morning.." He said in between yawns and stretches.

"Good evening Kichi.." I showed him the time on my phone. "Its 9:00 PM."

The light from my phone screen must've woken him up more, because that's when he realized he was on my lap.

Without a second of hesitation he jumped up off my lap and the couch then glared at me. "Why was I on your lap? Weirdo!" He shouted, still a bit drowsy.

"I didnt make you lay on my lap, you did that all by yourself." I chuckled.

Kichi just sighed and sat back down beside me. The purple hair male rested his elbows on his legs and covered his eyes with his hands. He obviously wasnt even in the mood to be mad.

I looked over at the boy and began to speak. "Hey Kichi, are you doing oka-" I was interrupted.

"Thank you." Kichi mumbled quietly. "Ya know, for being so kind earlier, after Amami left.."

I couldn't help but smile. "Of course Kichi, anytime. Plus, you look cuter when your happy." I teased.

He then lightly punched my shoulder. "I'm still pretty tired.. I think I'm gonna head to my bed. I'll see you tomorrow Saihara." Kichi gave an obviously fake smile, and walked away before I could say anything.

Kokichis POV

I gave Saihara a fake smile then went to my own room. I wasn't trying to be really mean or whatever, but I wasnt in the mood to speak to anyone.

I layed down on my bed and saw my phone on my bedside stand. I turned it on to see multiple missed calls from Tsumugi, a few from Keebo, some from Kirumi, even some from Miu. I also had many unread text messages. I decided to go through them.

Tsumugi- Ouma Kaedes gonna try and break you and Rantaro up
Tsumugi- You there
Tsumugi- reply asap pls

Tsumugi- Omg Rantaro just told me what happened.
Tsumugi- are you okay ouma?
Tsumugi- pls call me I'm worried about u

Keebo- Ouma. I have just been informed by Amami about what has taken place between you two. Call me when you get a chance. I am worried about you. ~K1-B0

Miu- yo
Miu- u gud?
Miu- avocado told me wat happened
Miu: sorry :(
Miu- call me if u want

Kirumi- Ouma I've heard about what happened.
Kirumi- You dont have to call or reply right away, take some time to yourself. I just want you to know I care and I'm here for you.

I smiled at the messages until I noticed some missed texts from Rantaro aswell

Rantaro- I'm on my way Ouma! Can't wait to see you! <3

Rantaro- Sorry, took longer at the store than I thought, I'm on my way now! <3 <3

Rantaro- Hey Ouma. I want you to know that I do hope that we can stay in contact. Even when I move, I really enjoy being your friend. Also, dont feel pressured to reply till your ready! I understand! <3

I let out a heavy sigh and turned off my phone. Not replying to any texts. I then closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
