Chapter 16 "Cafe Date part 2"

Shuichi's POV

"Saihara? Are you ready to leave already?" Kichi looked up at me from the couch. "Yeah, let's go." I smiled happily at the short boy.

The two of us arrived at a small cafe just down the street from our dorms. Kichi chose a booth near the back of the cafe for us to sit at. "I'll go order for us. What would you like?"

Kichi thought for a moment before telling me what he wanted. I nodded and headed to the counter to order.

As I waited in line, I looked over at the purple haired male, looking down at the table, he seemed upset. I prayed that this date would cheer him up.

"Kichi! I got our food!" I smiled happily as I walked back to our table with a tray of the pastries we had ordered. Kichi seemed to calm down a bit as he began to eat, which was a good sign.

Kichi and I ate our food in silence, not awkward silence, but comfortable silence. Well, that was, until I heard some familiar voices enter the cafe. "I'm so happy you said yes to joining me today!" The happier voice spoke. "Nyeh..? Why wouldn't I say yes? We're dating, afterall.." The other voice spoke, though they sounded tired.

"Huh? Hey is that Shuichi?" The tired one questioned. "Wait, really? Oh, it looks like hes on a date!" The happier voice seemed to notice.

I heard foot steps get gradually closer, before they stopped right infront of our table. "Ah, Himiko, Tenko, what are you doing here?" I looked at the two girls standing infront of us. "We're on a date! Right Himiko?" Tenko poked the shorter girls cheek. "Mhm.." Himiko nodded as she blushed lightly.

"What about you two males? Are you on a date too?" Tenko looked at Kichi, then back at me.

"Well, ye-"

"No. We are not on a date. We are simply friends hanging out at a cafe that just so happens to be close to our dormitory." I was interrupted by Kichi.

"Now, if you'll excuse me.." The boy grabbed his pastry and stood up. "I will be leaving now." He sighed before dropping five dollars on the table. "That's about how much my food was, see you Saihara." With that, Kichi turned and left the cafe.

"..."

"..."

That hurt more then it should've.

"Shuichi? Are you alright?" Himiko waved her hand infront of my face.

"Huh? Oh, yes I'm fine." I smiled. "I think I should get going as well." I waved goodbye at the two girls and left.

I was just brutally friendzoned, right? I'm not actually too sure what happened, but I know it wasn't good.

I ended up deciding to go to a nearby park for half an hour to give Kichi some time alone at the dorm.

The park was actually very calming, I just sat on a bench and read some Manga while all sorts of people walked by.

Bikers, joggers, children and their parents, elderly, couples, Kichi, people walking their dogs, wait- Kichi?

"Oh.. Hello Kichi! I came to this park to give you some space, but I guess we both had the same idea-" He's walking away.

He never even stopped to listen to me! He just glanced in my direction then continued walking!

Meanwhile.. At the cafe..

Tenkos POV

"Mwah" Himiko kissed me on the cheek! Shes so cute! "Aww! Your adorable! Hehe~" I booped her nose as the two of us blushed.

I was having a great time with Himiko, though, I was wondering what was going on with Shuichi.
He may be one of the worst degenerate males out of everyone in this school, but he was also a friend of Himiko's, so that means he's my friend too!

I added a bit of Tenko and Himiko stuff because their both just so cute! 🥺💕
