"Can I have this dance with you?"

A soft silky voice that ran a shiver down her spine caught Lisa's ears. She looked up at the small hand hanging in the air in front of her, and then up to Jennie's awaiting eyes and small smile. Her heart fastened its breathing again. Lisa contemplated if that was a good idea. She knew the effect Jennie had on her and she wasn't sure if she would be able to handle holding her hand without her mind drifting to places it wasn't supposed to be. She promised herself.

'It's just a dance. Nothing will happen'

Her consciousness bit on her. She wanted it. She wanted to feel her soft skin in the palm of her hand and press her body against her own. Wanted to look deep down the pools of her brown cat eyes and get lost as every other time. Wanted to be close to her lips so she could imagine that they were still hers to kiss. But she wasn't hers anymore. So Lisa finally grabbed Jennie's hand and led them towards the dance floor.

They stopped close to an old married couple that danced together to the slow beat. They looked genuinely happy. It made Lisa wonder if she could experience this long-lasting type of love, if there would be a person who could love her unconditionally until their last breath. It probably did, but Lisa never actually believed in it.

She felt a pair of hands snake around her neck and remember the woman in front of her she was supposed to dance with. Lisa placed her hands on her hips and help her softly but firmly as they both swayed to the music along with the other couples surrounding them. Their eyes locked and they stared at each other for a good amount of time. It was like they fell in a trance.

None of them made a move to look away. The small distance left between them irked Jennie and she decided to take a step forward until their chests almost touched. That was the closest they have been to each other In a long time, but it still felt like nothing but pain and memories for the last time they were able to hold each other this close.

They danced for a couple of minutes in total silence until Lisa turned her head to the side, deciding she couldn't hold the intense gaze of the cat eyed brunette anymore. Maybe this dance was a mistake. She thought it was going to be okay, but it wasn't. Her lips itched to kiss Jennie's. The close proximity took her breath away and the way Jennie's small fingers knid on the short hairs on the back of Lisa's neck made her feel like she would get a heart attack right there and then.

A sudden breathy chuckle made her head turn again. She watched Jennie smile as she inspected her face until a quiet soft voice filled her ears.

"Remember the first time we danced like this?" she cocked up an eyebrow. "Your hotel room, us in just pajamas, dancing slowly to the upbeat songs playing on the radio"

Of course Lisa remembered. It was one of the best memories they made together on their last day. The blonde's mind drifted back to that day. They played some radio music while having lunch when Jennie suddenly pulled Lisa up and swayed them soflty to the beat of BLACKPINK's BOOMBAYAH. It was weird but gave them one of the best fits of laughter they have ever had

The blonde tried to surpress the smile that made its way on her lips, but unsuccessfully. She looked back at Jennie's bright eyes. "You stepped on my feet so much that day. You were horrible" they laughed together.

"I'm better now" Jennie playfully whined in disagreement.

Lisa nodded, still staring at her eyes lovingly. She loved her. She couldn't lie to herself, but she couldn't also let it show also. She couldn't show how affected she was. She needed to keep her guard up for the night, and the next day until they finally parted ways. Again. Then she could go and cry her eyes out from the pain she felt and scream how much she loved her. That should be easy. Or so she thought.
