I slipped on my worn-out ballet shoes. They felt so normal, almost like a second layer of skin. It was only 3:50, so I had some time before the boys got here. I was a nervous mess, because I had no idea how I was going to get through 12 weeks of ballet classes with the three loudest and rowdiest boys I'd ever met. I sighed and stood up. I was wearing a sports bra and some athletic shorts with transition tights underneath because I hated leotards. I began to warm up my arms and legs, getting lost in the seamless movements. I started stretching out on the floor, bending over my legs.

"I hope we don't have to do that," I heard a deep voice say from behind me. I whipped my head up, seeing in the mirror in front of me the three boys, standing in the studio doorway. They were all dressed in basketball shorts and random logo tees. I shook my head, standing up and brushing off my shorts. As I did, James wolf whistled. Grayson and Colby snickered.

"You know, I don't have to do this. I can quit," I said while scowling at them. They stopped laughing and stared at me.

"C'mon Katrina. You know we would have nowhere else to go. Then everyone would think we were wimps," Colby whined playfully, "and we can't have that. We are the Three Musketeers!" They high-fived each other, grinning at me. I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever. Let's just get started. When you dance, you always have to warm up first. For ballet, that means some quick plies and tendus. Also, you're going to have to take those off," I said, looking down at their shoes.

"What does that even mean?" Grayson asked. He obviously didn't know any terminology.

"It's French you dumbass," Colby lightly punched Grayson on the arm. Grayson smacked the back of his head.

"Okay enough of that, let's go," I interjected. I showed them over to the barre, and taught them some basic warmup combinations. They seemed stiff and bored.

"Look you guys, if we are going to get anywhere, you need to relax and have some fun," I told them, after about 15 minutes. James groaned.

"This stuff is so boring though," he groaned. Suddenly, a wicked smile crossed his face. "I know! Let's play a quick round of truth or dare!" he exclaimed, beaming. Colby and Grayson nodded their heads at me. "See, they agree," he continued, smirking. My stomach twisted. I hated that game, but I knew it was the only thing that would keep them under control.

"How about we do a half an hour more ballet, and then I promise we'll play some T&D," I told him uneasily. They grinned at me.

"You know, you're not so bad," James said. I turned my head and blushed.

After some basic combinations across the floor where they had all fallen multiple times, laughing and shoving each other, it had been 30 minutes. Colby looked down at his watch.

"Alright! Time to plaaaaaay!" he announced loudly, bouncing up and down. I sighed and sat down in the middle of the floor. The other boys positioned themselves in a circle with me.

"Okay, Katrina. Actually, can I call you Kat?" Grayson asked me. I nodded. "Alright, Kat, this is how we play. If we dare you to do something and you chicken out, you lose. If we ask you a truth and we can see that you lied, you lose. The penalty for losing is social humiliation. You understand?" he held my gaze. I was lost in his eyes until he snapped in my face, making me jump a little. "You can stop checking me out now," he smirked.

"I was not checking you out!" I said defiantly, but I could feel myself blushing. The boys laughed. "Just start the damn game already," I said, internally cursing myself for not breaking eye contact.

"Kat, how about you go first," Colby said eagerly. I sighed.

"Truth," I said, holding in the urge to get up and walk away from the immature boys.

"Which one of us do you think is the hottest?" he asked, holding back laughter. James and Grayson looked over at me expectantly.

"Umm well......." I said, stalling, "I guess Grayson," I trailed off. Grayson leaned back smirking, while James was laughing and Colby was clutching his heart dramatically, pretending I had really hurt him. I looked down, my cheeks flaming. I could feel Grayson staring at me.

"Okay, okay. Your turn," I said, looking at Colby. Colby smiled.

"Dare, of course," he said. I thought about what I could dare him to do.

"Give her a lap dance," James said smirking at me. I started to reject but Colby was already getting up, and he looked like it was no big deal to him. He began to twist himself on top of me, shaking his butt in my face. James and Grayson were rolling around on the floor laughing. Colby stood up and walked back over to his spot. The other two boys sat back up, out of breath from their laughing fit. I looked up at the ceiling, waiting for them to calm down. Colby turned to James.

"Truth," James said.

"On a scale of 1 to 10, how hot do you think Kat is?" Colby said holding in laughter. James smiled.

"Oh, she breaks the scale," he said, looking directly at me and winking. I laughed at his obvious sarcasm.

"Now, for the man we've all been waiting for, Gray, your turn," James said. Grayson locked eyes with him, unfazed.

"Dare," he said, grinning.

"Kiss Kat on the cheek," James yelled, smirking at me. Grayson stood up slowly and walked over to where I was sitting he leaned down slowly and I could feel his breath on my cheek. His lips pressed against my skin. It was like an electric shock had gone through my whole body, my toes tingling. His lips were soft and warm. He pulled away and looked into my eyes. I looked down into my lap, my face burning red. James and Colby were cracking up, whistling and cheering. Grayson strolled back to his seat and sat down. The boy's laughter faded away.

"Alright boys, it's getting late, we should go," Grayson said, not meeting my eyes while he walked out the door. James and Colby got up and walked over to grab their shoes.

"Bye!" Colby said, waving at me. I waved back. James grunted and walked out after them. I let out a deep breath. As I packed up my stuff, I could still feel the place where Grayson kissed me burning on my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine. I wondered how he had felt, then immediately shook it off. He probably just considered it a simple dare. He had probably kissed a ton of girls before me. But I couldn't shake the feeling that it might have been something special.
