 “Are you sure Dan? I like you so much and I do not want to have my heartbroken because you start to fall in love with-“ my eyes flicker open to hear Molly’s concerned voice talking to what I am assuming is Dan.

“You do not have to worry Mol. I love you and only you” I hear a very long pause and hear a very faint voice whispering Dan’s name and silently crying.

I love you and only you.

I pull myself up of the couch and place Dan’s grey jacket which curled over me on the sofa. I close my eyes and stretch myself out, only when I open them Dan was standing in front of me smiling. I smile back and ask him if he had a good sleep.

“Pleasant actually” I walk back to my room and get out of my clothes from yesterday and walk into my ensuite to have a quick shower.

Walking back out of the shower with my towel placed around my chest in a tight knot, I hear my phone ring and I run to pick it up. I look at the caller I.D and it reads “Unknown”.

“Hello” I answer with confusion in my tone.

“Ellie, Its Will. You and Michael will be heading off to a store nearby which has some employees which may locate where Zachariah is. Meet him at 21 Cloze Place in half an hour.”

He hangs up and I place the phone back on charge on my dressing table. Dam! Why was I on a ‘mission’ with my ex? This is going to be so awkward.

I walk towards my closet and pick out my black oversized hoodie which I bought from a “Two Door Cinema Club” concert and wear it with my faded blue, ripped jeans. I walk out of my room and notice Dan leaning his back on my door frame staring at his phone.

“Dan?”

“El! I was just about to head out and just wanted to say bye” he pulls me forward into a hug and whispers in my ear “I haven’t had that much fun in a long time. Thank you El” he lets go and my legs start to tingle.

I watch Dan walk out the front door. Something about last night sparked in my brain and ever since then, I have thought about him completely different.

“Molz, I gotta go. I’ll be home in a couple of hours” I yell walking out the front door.

“Ellie Perkings! You better not set foot out that door before you tell me where you are going” she screams poking her head around the kitchen wall.

I walk back inside and into the kitchen rolling my eyes. “I am going out to grab some breakfast, do you want something?” I smile trying to act friendly.

“Breakfast from?”

“Does it matter? Are you my mother now?”

“Ellie, I don’t ever want you to repeat what happened yesterday. I was hysterical yesterday and sadly Dan had to see me like that. “

“Alright, I am sorry” I pull her into a hug and she does not move her arms an inch, her body stays frozen.

I walk back outside and drive to the location. It was a 15 minute drive down and when I reach the plaza, I search for Michael. Walking past the exquisite fountain with a grey concrete dolphin leaping in the air placing the soccer ball on its nose. I walk past many boutiques occasionally peeking in to see any bargains.

I hear my name being called from across the plaza and turn around to see Michael jumping in the air waving his hand to catch my attention from the swarm of people which were shopping. I walk up to him and smile not wanting to create any awkwardness between us.
