Leo - Chapter 1

Gunshots. That's what I wake up to every morning. "Did she wake up, Leo?" Caleb asked from around the corner. Caleb watches over us now that our parents left since the fire. When our parents were around, the girls would fall for him because we had the money and he was QB for the football team, when he took them to nationals, which he got a trophy that had Caleb Webster on the plaque. For him being 22 years old, brown hair and ruby red eyes, I wanted to grow up and be strong like him with his ripped, Rambo body.

I peeked around the curtain and replied "She's moving but I don't think that's what woke her." He came in and tussled my short black hair and he stared into my sapphire blue eyes and gave me a wink which I knew meant to get breakfast while he waits for Bella to get dressed. I ate some toast and heard Bella rush downstairs with her blonde hair bouncing with a hidden green highlight and green eyes shining like emeralds.

"You're pretty happy this morning," I said feeling the toast slide down my throat.

"Well good morning to you too, Leo," she bubblingly said back. She walked over to our mini fridge and took out a carton of milk and drank it like a guy, right out if the carton.

I hear a rumbling sound and notice Bella's round rock rolling down the hallway.

"How did you make that rock so perfectly round," I questioned with great interest.

"I don't know, it was like someone told me to pick it up because it would help me one day or something like that."

"That's odd," suddenly I heard Caleb walk down the stairs with his car keys.

"Ready to go guys," he asked.

I grabbed my napsack and walked out the door wondering what she meant. Then I noticed Caleb had a folder which had strange letters that I couldn't read.

"Caleb,what's that in your hand," I asked but it didn't seem like he heard me so I decided to ask again.

"Leo, will you stop pestering and get in the damn car!" he yelled.

Bella and I exchange frightened looks and I turn and walk slowly and sadly toward the car with Bella beside me trying to comfort me. We get into the car and wait for Caleb to lock the door and get us to school. I look out the window and see that Caleb answered his phone and was arguing with whom ever was on the other end. He hung up and got in the car.

"I'll be late picking you guys up today," he said. He started the car and we were off to school. We got caught behind one of the buses and I noticed someone new getting on. She was gorgeous, she was tall and had brown hair. She also had a little brother and sister behind her.

"Leo's got a crush, Leo's got a crush," Bella sang in a sing-song voice.

"I don't even know her, Bella," I replied. All I could think about was that new girl the whole ride to school. She seemed really familiar like I've seen her before.

"We're here," Caleb said which broke me from my trance.

I sigh while Bell and I get out of the F-150 and I whisper to her "Let the hell be unleashed."
