45. Timeless Training, Desired Hope and Faith
Courtney's P.O.V
After reaching the city it seemed I was of no need so I decided to head back towards the palace. Rumour had it that Goju sensei has returned as well as a teenage Lucas along with adolescents Miyuki and Hayate. I was slightly mad with the children, why on earth did they choose the wrong potion? it wasn't fun being a teenager. I searched for the room known as the timeless room and found it with ease, it was as if someone was leading me towards it. I opened the first door and slipped through then walked down what seemed to be a corridor with glass walls, cieling and floor.
I headed towards the second door further down and pushed that open also to be opened up into what looked a little like a colliseum. I watched with surprise as Goju sensei took on both Miyuki and Hayate, Lucas flew above and my heart skipped a beat, seeing the boy again made me so happy but sad at the same time.
"Stop." Goju sensei ordered. The 'children' did as he asked and then he began to scan the room. "Where is she?" he asked and then looked over his shoulder. I clasped my hands in front of my waist then tucked them behind my back, leant forward slightly and gave Goju sensei a closed eye smile.
"Hi sensei." I said.
"Courtney?" he asked as he came over to me with a steady pace.
"I-I know I shouldn't be in here but I'm of no use out there, my healing is weakening and this medallion Borko gave me is wearing down... it looks like it's going to shatter and besides. I can't rely on a medallion I'm not a child anymore who is learning to ride a bike with her training wheels, I need to remove my training wheels and become independant..." I explained.
"Borko isn't going to be happy Courtney!" Hayate exclaimed, his arms folded over his chest as he stood on his side.
"Hey! I'm still older than you so don't start bossing me around!" I exclaimed.
"Why? Sky's allowed to!" Hayate shot back.
I just sighed and placed the medallion back around my neck.
"That will be enough Hayate." Goju sensei ordered.
"Sorry sensei..." Hayate replied.
"Goju sensei, you helped me so much before.... when I was younger, I just need more training if I don't get that I'm never going to be able to grow as a person and I won't be able to save..." I began but trailed off.
"Save what?" Goju asked.
"N-Nothing." I managed as I forced tears back.
"Courtney sama! Please don't cry!" Miyuki said as she ran towards me and gave me a hug she was still a little smaller than I was they all looked as if they were either 14 or older.
"I-I'm okay." I assured Miyuki, she nodded and stepped back to stand beside Hayate, Lucas landed on her other side.
"Excuse us for a while." Goju sensei said as he gently placed a hand on my shoulder and looked down. "We need to speak of this." He added.
"O-Okay..." I replied with a nod as we both headed to the furthest point of the room. Goju sensei then stood in front of me and folded his arms across his armored chest.
"What are you keeping from everyone else?" he asked kindly.
"K-Keeping?" I whispered, repeating the word he spoke.
"I have been training you for four years now, I can tell when something is bothering you. Usually when something is really bothering you your face expresses your concern, I may not be able to pick out the small things that bother you like someone else but you are still my student and I can read your emotions like I can read your moves." Goju sensei stated.
