"This is soooo good." I moan a little from the amazing taste that explodes in my mouth. "Told you I'm a great cook." Michael smiles appreciatively. How can something so easy be so good. I don't need a fancy dish to give my appreciation or to enjoy it to the fullest. This is so nice, me and him, it's nice. "So, did you think about a movie or do I need to choose one?" Michael grins at me, hoping I'll give him the chance to pick one. I think hard for a while and Michael chuckles at my worried expression.
"Such a tough decision huh?" He eyes me with amusement. "Yeah it is actually, but it's your house and I decided to be polite and give you the choice to choose one." I smile proudly at my confession. "You're my guest and I order you to choose one," Michael tells me cocky. "Is that so... Well if you insist, I'm going to choose a romantic movie." I smile at him, awaiting his response patiently. I know he'll say never mind about me choosing a movie. Boys hate cheesy movies. I know Cody hates it so much, when mom and I are watching in the living room he always decides to move to his room.
I smile at him with my biggest smile, knowing I won this round. "Good, you can still choose one you'd like." He responded calmly, his expression not leaving any emotion whatsoever. Fuck, he's kidding, right? I look at him with a puzzled expression. "You thought I wouldn't want to watch a romantic movie right?" He smiles sheepishly. "I've to admit you surprise me each day with something new." I giggle, shaking my head a little in astonishment. "I'm full of surprises," Michael responds, flashing his perfect white teeth and curved mouth.
"I'm full. It was so good Michael. I'm shocked, but in a good way though." I tell him calmly with a small smile. "I'm relieved you liked my cooking skills." He smiles honestly. I nod and take a sip of my coke. "I wasn't sure to ask you this, but do you want wine or something else?" He questioned me patiently. "No, thanks," I respond quickly. "I didn't know if you drink alcohol or not," Michael informs me gently. "Not much actually. I think it's horrible seeing a young girl so drunk she can't even walk or even forget who she's kissing." I explain to him softly. It's the truth though. I hate people getting so drunk they can't even remember where they live.
"Good for you. There are so many guys walking around with the wrong ideas. A few years ago a young girl that lives in my neighborhood was raped by four guys at a party. She was so wasted she couldn't even shout for help, so I think it's very wise of you." He explains to me softly.
Michael turns on the TV and scrolls through Netflix's new movies. "I think it's very nice of you that you always took care of your friend when she drank too much," Michael admits with a small smile. "Michael I need to tell you something, but I don't want you to judge me or her alright?" I question him a little unsure. I need to tell him the truth about Miley her feelings for him. It's still nagging at me. Obviously, he's been noticing her signals for a while now, but I need to make sure that he knows, so he can decide. I don't hate Miley, I'm just mad at her. But I know that if he fancies her too I'm not going to stand in their way.
"Of course," Michael tells me with crooked eyebrows, eyeing me curiously. "Well, Miley fancies you a lot." I spit out. Michael starts laughing about it. I gaze at him in shock. Why is he laughing now? "Sofia, I know that. Sydney told me that. But for the record, I don't like her." He explains to me seriously. "You don't like her because of me, but she's not a bad person. She's very beautiful though." I add, trying to read his body language for hidden lies. "Beautiful? No, thanks, she's not my type. Besides, I've changed. I'm looking for someone with a good heart, that's beautiful on the inside and out." He confirms his statement.
"You've changed huh? You know you don't have a great reputation when it comes to women Michael." I giggle a little exaggerated from confusion. "You danced with her at the party so you must have enjoyed her company," I explain to him with my arms folded. I can't believe him. Two weeks ago he would whistle to beautiful girls and now he's almost a saint. "Is that so hard to believe then? Yeah, I danced with her just to piss you off because I knew you would be angry about it. She or any other girl for that matter doesn't mean anything to me." He explains to me with annoyance.
"So you played me? You and I aren't even friends then or what? Explain a little further because I can't understand anything that comes out of your mouth?" I snap at him. Now he's made me angry. Suddenly he doesn't seem so sure anymore, and he stands up from his seat and walks towards me. He hands out his hand, but I just stare at him quizzically. "Take my hand Sofia." He says in a dominant tone. "Why?" I question him, still angry about how this perfect evening is ruined because of him. He shoves his hand in mine, not waiting for my approval he pulled me into his arms.
I'm dumbfounded for a moment, trying to register what has happened just a few seconds ago. "I asked you to dance with me at that party, didn't I? Michael ushers me to talk. "Yes," I reply to him shortly. "Miley asked me to dance. I never asked her. I only wanted to dance with you if I've to be honest now." He explains to me softly, his penetrating eyes trying to read my facial expressions. "I'm confused," I respond to him, still in shock about his closeness.
"Let me help you clear everything out so you understand me. I need to make sure I'm not too quick in my actions with you. I don't want to scare you away. Do you trust me?" Michael asked me a little unsure, his eyes roaming all over my face. God, he's so close now. And so tall when he stands in front of me. His perfect mouth, his stubborn hair, his blue eyes as clear as water. He's just perfect in any way. I don't know what his move will be next, but I think I can trust him.
"If I didn't trust you, I wasn't even here in your house," I explain to him quietly. "Good." He responds shortly, brushing my hair behind my ear. "You're so beautiful Sofia. It hurts me you don't even see what I'm seeing. You confused me at first, but you've intrigued me as no other person has ever done. You're so special and honest and brave, not to mention so cute when you're mad." He explains to me calmly. I swallow hard and open my mouth to breathe in more air because this is truly happening. Michael is confessing something I would never have dreamed of. The tension between us is real. I thought I imagined everything, but I guess I was wrong all along.
"How do you feel about everything, now you know how I feel about you?" Michael leans closer to me. "I uh. This is overwhelming." I admit softly, feeling my legs becoming weak from the nerves that I was trying to keep in me. Michael chuckles at my nervous response. "I know, for me as well. I just want to get to know you better if that's okay with you. I only need to know if I'm already been placed in the friend zone?" He asks me, giving me an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I thought he wanted to be friends and now he's telling me he wants more. Swallowing hard, I look up into his eyes. This is my moment. The moment I've been waiting for. A moment that every girl dreamed of. A full love confession was the least I thought I would receive today, but it was the best part of the evening.
"I want to go slow if you don't mind. I'm still inexperienced." I tell him with a cracked voice, a little unsure how to behave myself now. Do I need to jump for joy or do I need to kiss him? This is so exciting and weird at the same time, but I trust his judgment. "Of course Sofia. It's no problem, 'til you're ready okay?" Michael strokes my cheek gently. I nod gently, and we stand there for another few minutes in dead silence, just looking at each other. "Come on, let's pick a movie." Michael takes my hand and leads me to the couch where I sit close next to him. He kept holding my hand while scrolling through Netflix. "The notebook is beautiful," I tell him when Ryan Gosling caught my eye. Michael clicks the play button and the movie starts. "Do you want to see a romantic movie?" I ask him suddenly. "Yeah, of course," Michael responded, leaning closer to me. He gives me a small kiss on my forehead. It was innocent, but it felt so good. I felt safe with him.
I knew deep down in my heart that I'd found my match, my boyfriend, but I'm still going to be careful because this is new for me.
