Emmy was doing pilates in her living room, while listening to music. She liked to maintain a slim figure, and anyway, sport was one of her hobbies. The music was so loud that she almost didn't hear her cell phone ringing. Switching off the radio, she answered.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Emmy, how you're doing?" said a voice with a thick Scottish accent. Emmy smiled.

"Hey, Gerard, I'm fine, what's up?"

"I'm fine too, thanks. Listen, are you free this Friday night? I was thinking maybe we could do a Phantom of the Opera reunion, to a restaurant or something."

"You're kidding? It's great! Maybe I could call Minnie Driver!"

"It would be nice, yes, and I'm calling Patrick, it's been ages since I haven't heard from him. Do you like Italian food?"

"Of course!"

"Good! I'm booking at "Il Giardino", in New York, of course. Is that all right for you?"

"Perfect!"

"OK! See you there at 8:00! Bye!"

"Bye!"

He hung up.

Emmy smiled. She couldn't wait to meet her old friends again.

Patrick had got home after those two days at Lorraine's house. He'd kissed his wife, had a shower and quickly changed his dirty cloths. He had picked a new pair of jeans he had bought two weeks ago and a simple white t-shirt. He reminded himself he had been invited to a pretty fancy restaurant that night, so he picked a blue jacket for the dinner that had to take place in eight hours.

"Do you really have to go? You've just come back!" complained Dagmara.

Patrick sighed "I know, I'm sorry. But you know, it's been ages since I've seen Gerard. He's my best friend after James, you know it. He tried to call me multiple times while I was at Lorraine Warren's house."

"He's called here too, while you were gone. But still, I would like to have you by myself tonight." She said, putting her arms around his neck.

He kissed her "I know, I missed you too."

"Then don't go!"

"Tomorrow we will have an evening all by ourselves, I promise. I could book at Joe's, I know how much you like it."

Dagmara smiled "That will do." She said, kissing him.

They intensified the kiss a second later. It might have been true that he was slowly falling for another woman, but Patrick was needy: those two days being so close to that woman and not being able to touch her had given him almost animalistic impulses, so much that he couldn't resist his wife. He was still kissing her desperately when the phone rang.

"No!" Dagmara protested, as he tried to pull off her.

"It's not that I don't want to, but maybe it's important." Patrick said.

"No!" She repeated, pulling him into a kiss again.

She gave up, annoyed by the phone.

"I'll answer it." She said.

Patrick waited as Dagmara went to answer the phone. He sat on the bed, frustrated. For once that he wanted to spend some time with his wife... He heard Dagmara's voice coming from the kitchen.
