It was two thirty by the time I got home. I live in a two bedroom apartment between 5th and 6th street. It is so noisy at times seeing that I live right in the middle of the city but I got used to it. Every room in my apartment has its own little unique touch but with one similarity. Satin! I absolutely love the stuff. It's all over the place. Satin curtains in every room, satin bed covers, satin pillows even my dining table has a satin table cloth.

The living area has lots of photographs of my family and friends. I like to remember all the good times I've had with them. Photographs are an awesome way to reminisce I think. I've a classy cream puffy sofa it's like a lazy boy but only it's three times the size. I sleep there sometimes when I'm working late; it's just as comfy as my bed.

Left to the living area is my favourite place to be the kitchen. If I'm not working or sleeping I will usually be in the kitchen cooking up something or other. Cooking is a fond hobby of mine. I would always bake cakes and cupcakes for bake sales in the nearby school whenever I get a day off from work.

Right to the living area is my bedroom, the spare room (study as I call it even though it is full of my clothes, shoes, bags. I should just name it my closet) and then we have the bathroom. Just your typical average apartment nothing really fancy like a big condo with swinging doors or an indoor swimming pool. It's just plain me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

To pursue the rest of my evening I had my chicken microwave dinner that I had left out that morning as I knew I was going to be working late. Even though I wasn't but I couldn't refreeze it again and I hated wasting food.

Most nights I spend on my own in front of the TV watching some sort of sitcom with a glass of wine in one hand and a bowl of popcorn in the other but not tonight. I had to prepare myself for my coffee date in the morning with Ben and I didn't want to show up smelling of alcohol.

I skipped down to the bathroom and started to run a bath adding my favourite bubble bath, I heard a knock at my door! Wonder who that could be. I turned off the water and made my way to the front door opened it and to my amusement it was my best friend Lexie standing there with her arms open wide for a hug.

"I thought you weren't in town until next Thursday?"

Lexie was attending this big job opportunity in Seattle and she ended up staying a few more weeks than expected.

"Oh girl I know I just had to come home and see you. I've some news but I will tell you once you un-guard the doorway and let me in" she giggled.

I let her past and she went flying onto my sofa patting it with her hand saying "come over here and we shall catch up".

I closed the door and went over to the sofa and sat down. Her face was so full of excitement, what was she about to tell me? I haven't seen her excited like this since she won first prize in the science fair.

"Ok so as I was on my little adventure in Seattle I was in a shop looking for some directions and guess who I bump into?" There was a long pause....

"Ben Mooreland from High school". She said with a smirk.

Oh my god did she just say Ben Mooreland? My face went from being really intrigued to completely gobsmacked.

"We got talking and he took me out for dinner, he was a real gentleman and I think he's back in town as well he said he had some family business to sort out with his uncle".

"I know his uncle is my boss Lexie, he was in my office today at the board meeting".

"Is that you back for good?"

"Is that why you suspended your trip because you met Ben?"

I needed to slow down here I was asking too many questions and wasn't giving Lexie a chance to even answer.
