'Sarah?' Lucy called as she entered the toilet shortly after she had locked the cubicle door.

When the only response was a sniffle followed by a stifled cry that she had wanted to go unheard. There was a knock on the door before Lucy softly asked.

'Are you ok?' waited for a few moments before continuing

'What did he say to you?'

'Nothing'

Sarah waited in the short silence, hoping that Lucy would leave but when she heard the tap running and realised her friend was staying put, she unlocked the door.

'It's him, isn't it?'

'What?' Sarah questioned as she dabbed her soggy eyes before splashing her face in cold water, she exhaled dramatically as her body became shocked by the effect.

'You know what I'm talking about. The guy you've been seeing, it's Zander.'

Sarah shook her hands clean as she held them under the dryer, shouting over the noise.

'It turns out "seeing each other" isn't what he wants.' Sarah was about to continue and delve into the details of the night she and Zander had spent together, until the door burst open.

'How are you' Donna asked as she rushed towards Sarah with her arms outstretched.

'I'm so sorry about Zander and if you felt he was leading you on. I've warned him before his attitude towards female fans.'

It's fine honestly.' Sarah held up her hand in defiance 'It was all a misunderstanding on my part.'

'Well, I hope it hasn't put you off auditioning. Same for you Lucy.'

'Auditioning? For what?' Lucy questioned with a look of genuine confusion on her face.

Sarah searched the pockets of her jeans and handed the leaflet to Lucy. 'I meant to show you.' She handed it to Lucy.

'This is why Zander's here.'

Lucy threw her hand over her gaped open mouth but it did no use in muffling her excited squeal.

'We have got to do this' Lucy insisted, as though their existence was dependent upon it.

'I'm not so sure, it's never been my kind of thing.' Sarah decided, the last thing she wanted to do was set eyes on Zander Riley again.

Lucy was going to stick around to persuade her otherwise. 'Well I'm defo doing it. Where do I sign up?'

'Just come along to the canteen at lunchtime and we'll give you a line to read.' Donna advised.

Sarah had just stepped out of the main college gate when a force smacked her from behind, almost knocking her to the ground. Lucy instantly linked arms with her best friend and screeched excitedly in her ear.

'Guess what?' she gave Sarah no chance to answer as she excitedly continued 'I got the part.'

'Wow' Sarah exclaimed with less enthusiasm than she intended. 'That's great. I'm pleased for you.'

'And Zander's amazing' Lucy gushed 'he's so nice.'

'Well, don't be too fooled by his charm.'

Lucy opened her mouth, about to quickly jump to Zander's defence but it was the ringing of Sarah's phone that halted anything she was about to say.

'Hi mum...' Sarah answered, pausing for a few seconds each time while her mother spoke on the other end

'He's what? Ok, I'm on my way.'

Sarah broke away from Lucy's grip, she half walked and half run backwards as she turned to explain 'Sorry Lucy, this will have to keep for now. I've got to get back home now, it's my dad.'
