All the stores have closed. The streets are becoming less crowded. There's almost no one out except for the sliver of the sun.
"Dan! Joel!" he yells through heavy breaths. A boy wearing a dark green hoodie smiles and waves while the other one stays seated on the bench.
"What took you so long?" Dan asks with a friendly smile.
"We were about to leave. Do you see how late it's getting," Joel rebukes.
"I know. I know. I had detention and then the bridge was closed, so I had to take the long way around."
"Anyways, did you get it?" Joel asks.
"Yep! Here it is." Chet holds up the card pack.
Dan stares at it as if he's discovering a new ice cream flavor. "Wow that's so cool! My mom won't give me my allowance until I get my grades up."
Joel slides off the bench. "Guys can we walk and talk? I really don't want to get yelled at by my mom again for staying out late."
The 3 boys walk towards the direction of their neighborhood. Joel is leading while Dan and Chet are a small distance behind him.
"We're ready for the big reveal!" Dan shouts.
"Hey keep it down back there! You wanna wake the whole neighborhood?" Joel complains. But they ignore him.
"Check this out." Rrrriiiiiip! Chet pulls out the cards. The 2 start to breathe heavily and their huge smiles could almost fall off their faces. He has 8 limited edition jojo cards.
"Woah! You got 2 Bruno type Cs!" Dan squeals.
"And look at how this holographic Giorno type D card sparkles in the light!"
While Dan and Chet drool over the shining papers, Joel stops abruptly.
"Are you guys kidding me right now? That's nothing." He steps closer to the boys.
Chet frowns. "What do you mean? These are all limited edition."
Joel rolls his eyes. "Yeah but there's about more than 1,000+ of them. If you want to talk rarity," he smiles with eager challenge, "try for the Diavolo card. There's apparently only 2 in existence."
Chet tilts his head to the side. "I thought that rumor was a joke."
Joel continues. "How could it be? You can find all the card types on the official website, and Diavolo is popular enough to be listed. There are proven screenshots of his card recorded on the roster, but he's not there anymore. Isn't that weird? Some people thought that there were some mistakes with processing his card, and maybe that was too costly to do over, and then they trashed it in the end because it wasn't up to par with the general quality."
Dan puts his hand in his pockets. "Huh. So then what about the fans who got packs with his card in it?"
"That's the thing though. Apparently his cards weren't shipped out, and the ones that did get a passing grade were held back in storage for a while. If we're pinning this event to the dates of the screenshots, then the cards were held for about a week."
Chet scrunches his eyebrows together as his brain tries to keep up. "Wait, so then how do you know there's only 2 left?"
"Well that's where it gets a little complicated. There was this girl with the username 'LUV4J0J0' who drove down to the area where they make the jojo cards. Going by the roster screenshots, the Diavolo cards had just been scraped the same day. She posted that she found 2 scratched up jojo cards near the fencing of the building."
