"Chet come on," Dan calls. But He stares at his cards with shocked eyes.

"I, I got it."

"What?"

"The card. Di..."

Joel snaps back. "Diavolo?!"

"Di-Diver Down! It's one of my favorite stands!"

"Diver Down isn't that cool," Joel continues walking, "not so rare."

"Doesn't matter to me. That ability is just too cool. Think about how useful it is!"

Dan looks at the card with Chet.

"I guess it is but do you think it could've been handled better?" Dan asks.

"No I think it was fine. Part 6 had so much going on that I wasn't being picky about it. Also I think it just works how the stand almost looks like a scuba diver."

"My uncle used to take me scuba diving when I was younger? It was so much!"

"Yeah? Does he still take you?"

"Here and there when summer break rolls around. Hey, maybe I can ask him if you could join us."

"I don't know. I'm still afraid of being underwater."

"Are you guys going to stand there all night? Let's get going already," Joel says.

"Oh look who's talking," Chet starts walking up, but a card falls out of his manga. Dan notices, and picks it up for his friend.

Chet looks up at the sky. Surely they didn't spend too long listening to Joel's story. The sky is cloudy navy blue. No wind is blowing. There's nobody on the street besides the 3 friends. And finally after a long semester, they were able to make some time for each other. Chet smiles. It's such a peaceful night. The dark birds fly across the sky. Another group of them follow behind. They seem to have instantly sped up to the other side.

"Hey guys did you see that?" Chet asks, still looking up. Joel stops and looks back at him.

"See what?"

"The birds just now. They," he looks at Joel, then around, "uh, where's Dan?"

"What do you mean 'where's Dan?' He was right beside you wasn't he?" Joel looks around, but there's nothing to look for. The street is clean. There are no bushes to hide in. Big baby Dan is not the type to be playing jokes like this, especially in the dark of night. Joel gets closer to Chet.

Across the street, Chet sees a squirrel scurry down the road. When he blinks the squirrel has already reached a great distance away. He starts to breathe a little heavier.

"Joel? Joel?!" Chet's body shakes from the cold. "Guys?" his voice shakes. "Whatever you're doing it's not funny!" Caw! Caw! "AH!" He drops the cards. "Those jerks. Trying to scare me with their story," he mutters. With shaky hands he picks up his cards one by one. He picks up the last card on the ground. His eyes open wide.

"Huh?! Wait! This is-"

"Those who know my true nature cannot be left alive."

A couple leaves fall from a tree as a squirrel runs down the branches. There go the birds flying to their nests. The Nightingales' song is not heard by the people sleeping in their warm beds. And the clouds have cleared up a little revealing a new moon.

Chet is not there. Dan is not there. Joel is not there. There is no blood. There is no card. There is no evidence. There is no problem. There is nothing but the road, and the road is quiet.
