Scorpius P.O.V

Panting, I stop in front of the Slytherin common room. Lily probably thinks I'm a freak now he PERFECT, NICE JOB SCORPIUS. I BET LILY IS LAUGHING AT YOU WITH YOUR SISTER. "Snake," I tell the wall, and the door opened to the common room. Walking inside, I go to my dorm and wash up. My stomach growls and I should head to dinner.

As I walk into the Great Hall, I see Lily over at Ravenclaw laughing and talking to my sister and Dom. Lily spots me, though she quickly turns around and acts like she didn't see me. Sighing, I walk over to the Slytherin table, where I sit down next to Albus and start eating.

"I heard what you did to Lily. Did you try to kiss her?" My sister's voice rings inside my head, and I glance over and meet her eyes for a second. She must've tried hard to make me hear her when I wasn't paying attention.

"I-yeah. I don't know why or what came over me. It just happened, I don't know." I reply and notice her roll her eyes as she goes back to talking to her friends.

Suddenly, hands cover my eyes. "Guess who?" A voice, almost sickly-sweet rings out behind me.

"Hey," I respond quickly, immediately knowing who it is.

"You didn't guess."

"I don't need to, I know it's you, Rose," I reply as the hands move from my eyes.

"What's wrong, Scorp?" She questions me, and I shrug.

"Nothing," I mutter, ignoring the questioning look from Albus.

"I can tell something is wrong, now tell me," she pesters me.

"I didn't want to do it this way, but Rose, if you insist, I'm sorry, but it's just not working out." I turn from her a bit, glancing over to where Lily was sitting, too quickly for her to notice where I looked.

Rose's thoughts turn angry, her head spinning with rage. Wincing, I tune her out as she begins to yell, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!" My stomach drops as the entire hall turns silent.

"Well, I kinda... have feelings for someone else..." I mutter quietly, looking down at my hands.

"WHO IS THE CHICK?"

"S-some girl I-uh ran into a couple of years ago... I didn't notice I liked her until recently."

"WHO?!" She demands, and I shrink in my skin a bit. Her yelling reminded me of my grandfather when I was younger. The times I had to protect Phoenix. Protect her from the anger towards my father having a girl. How dare he ruin the Malfoy name. Of course, my mother and father always loved us both, never threatening to hurt us.

"I-uh... Lily.." I look at my feet, wincing as I say it. For some reason, I've never found myself able to lie to a screaming Weasley.

"POTTER?" Her face turned red with anger, and the Potters, in true Potter-Weasley fashion had been eating and ignoring the spectacle-except for Albus, who's sitting next to me- turn to see what's happening.

"Y-yes," I whisper, continuing to stare at my feet.

She growls at me. At least, the closest thing to a growl that a human can produce. I look up at her to say sorry when she suddenly punches me in the face, turns around, and starts stomping towards the Ravenclaw table. Lily, whose face was as red as her hair, froze under fear of her cousin.

"YOU! YOU BITCH! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO COME TO HOGWARTS! DID YOU COME HERE TO STEAL THE ONLY BOY I'VE EVER LOVED? YOU-YOU, YOU'RE JUST A FILTHY LITTLE MUDBLOOD WHO DOESN'T DESERVE TO BE A POTTER OR A WEASLEY!" Rose starts screaming louder than the howler Ginny sent when Albus and I skipped school last year. "I BET YOUR FRIENDS ARE JUST FAKING IT SO THEY COULD MEET THE SO-FAMOUS HARRY POTTER-"

Then, something everyone in the Great Hall saw coming but Rose, my sister punched Rose in the face hard enough that Rose fell over. "It's not Lily's fault you're a terrible girlfriend, and she happened to be fancied by my brother. Also, Rose, last time I checked Lily's parents are more pure-blooded than your own," Phoenix then proceeded to spit on her face.

I glance over at Lily, whose face is covered in mortification, as she gets up and runs out of the Great Hall. Glancing at Albus and wincing a little at how I know he's bound to react, and I run out of the Great Hall to follow her.

I can feel that my face is red as a tomato. Mortified, I run out of the Great Hall and start on my way to my dorm.

"Lily, wait!" Scorpius pleads behind me, "please?"

I stop and turn around, "WHAT?!" I snap, annoyed that he would pull something like that in front of everyone.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think she would take it that badly..." he looks at his feet.

"Of course she would take it badly, are you an idiot? You shouldn't have done it in the Great Hall! Thanks to you, I've now been-mortified? embarrassed?-in front of the entire school!" I replied hastily, my voice sharp.

"I know, I'm sorry," he looks at me with puppy-dog eyes that I can't resist.

"Does-no, did Albus know?" I ask.

"No..." he replies reluctantly.

"He's either taken this really well or really bad," I reply, shaking my head a bit.

"Why do you say that?" He asks.

"Well, I'm his baby sister, and you're his best mate."

"Okay, but why might it go really bad?" He asks.

"Have you never thought about this? Sometimes people in school romances get married; if you and I were to hypothetically date and get married, you'd be your best mate's brother-in-law. If we were to break up, it'd tear him apart, trying to support both of us. He'd probably have to choose."

"Oh," he replies after a moment.

Suddenly, Scorpius's face lit up with shock, and a couple of seconds later, I hear loud steps coming toward the door of the great hall. With one look at each other, we both begin to run.

Heading towards the owlery, I notice Scorpius following behind me. Glancing back, I see that it's both Albus and Rose who burst through the doors, looking for us. On the way there, I head into the secret passages I had found in my first year, which weren't even on the Marauder's Map. We take them to avoid them seeing us, and we head to the owlery.

Once we walk in, my owl, Snow, lands gently on my arm. "Hi Snow," I whisper, and I quickly grab an extra quill lying around and write down what happened, seal it up, and send it home with Snow. "I'll wait here for a response," I tell her.

We watched as she flew off, and Scorpius put his arm around my waist. I jumped a little bit, as I had forgotten he was there. After a long time, I break the silence. "Good luck going back to your dorm tonight. Albus is going to murder you."

"Yeah, I know, but it was worth it." He looks at me, and he leans in for a kiss, at the exact time I do. When we break apart, I blush and look up at him.

We stand there and talk for some time-just stupid little things, mostly-before Snow comes back with the response.
