-Tips: The Basics-

1. If there is a red line underneath a word, please click it. Please, I'm begging you.

Please.

        - Fan-fiction already has a reputation of having poor grammar. Don't feed into our bad stigma. Don't be that guy!

2. Get people to check your grammar and the flow of your writing! Whether you get your annoying sibling to check it or, for the closet weebs' sakes, others on this app!

 - I have a slight obsession with grammar and fan-fiction. SO, I am a happy bean when editing a fan-fiction! Send me your works!

3. Have consistency when writing your chapter titles! It's a simple way to seem more professional at the first glance of your works.

Example of How to NOT Write Your Titles:

CHAPTER ONE: SWAN DIVE

Chapter Two: At the Edge

CHAPTER 3 - Hatred

Four - villian deku

Example of HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY: (PLEASE IT'S NOT THAT HARD)

Chapter 1 - Swan Dive

Chapter 2 - At the Edge

Chapter 3 - Hatred

Chapter 4 - Villain Deku

4. Most don't bother to separate their writing into paragraphs and write one stream of words for each update. This doesn't only make your writing spatially unsatisfying but also discourages your readers to comment on specific parts of your writing.

  - Also! Am I the only one who scrolls down but stops at each paragraph or complete sentence?

5. This might just be a personal preference, but keeping your story's AUs in your explanations and not in your title makes it appear more professional. For example, instead of writing a Kirishima x Bakugou fan-fiction and titling it "Seeing Red - Kiribaku Soulmate AU," title your fan-fiction "Seeing Red" because using an ambiguous title and an obvious image to label your work is more appetizing to readers.

Also, be creative with titles! I roll my eyes every time I read a book mainly about Kaminari Denki, and its title has the words Electric/Electricity.

6. Write names consistently! This would include ship names and character names.

     a. For character names, choose between addressing characters by their family names (last names), given names (first names), or both. (Example: Yaoyorozu, Momo, Yaoyorozu Momo) Also, if using their full names, decide whether to write their family or given name first. (Example: Momo Yaoyorozu or Yaoyorozu Momo)

     b. There are also three ways to write ship names, such as combining their names into one word (ex.: Kiribaku, Jiromo, Todokiri), writing their full names without a space (ex.: KirishimaBakugou, JirouMomo, TodorokiKirishima), and using a hyphen or 'x' to connect their names (ex.: Kirishima-Bakugou, JirouxMomo, TodorokixKirishima)

7. As far as inserting pictures in your works, I would recommend only adding them in the beginning of your chapter, preferably in every chapter for consistency. Splitting up your paragraphs with images isn't spatially satisfying and disregards the format established prior.

8. For any and all OCs (Original Characters):

        a. If they are that unimportant, kill them off before you start writing (For example, Shiggy's fam).

        b. OCs are usually perceived as an intrusion in the story. Well-placed and appreciated OCs are usually given enough time in their story for character development to insure that the audience grows on your character. Also, add details about your OCs over time, just like how the fandom became accustomed to characters in BNHA.

         -  Well-Written OCs:

1. Mitoki from "but you gotta get up at least once more By:simkjrs", posted by WizardFoxAngel

2. Sachi from "Mightless" by TheMysteriousBanana

        c. In another chapter, I will cover fan-written characters that are in the series but are completely off-character (changed personalities) for the sake for the fan-fiction's plot, such as 'Villain!Deku' and 'Soft!Bakugou,' which will be a chapter titled "Off-Character Characters". I know, an oxymoron, woooooooo~ooooooow

9. For the final tip, I wanted to add that this fandom is very accepting of the LGBTQ+ additions in your story or polyamory that you include, or at least, the My Hero fandom that I've interacted with! So please include the ships and romantic subplots that you think would suit your story!

Much love to those communities♡♡♡♡♡
