"Stop running!" some officers shouted from behind us.
I ran faster than ever, my lungs screaming for air, with Max and Leo right behind me.
"Fuck it," Leo muttered and before I could react to what he was doing, he had already picked me up bridal style.
"You dickhead, what are you doing?! I can walk!" I screeched as he ran down the street.
Suddenly, he stopped and went into an alleyway. He put me down next to a trash can and hid himself behind a motorbike that stood in the middle of the alley. Max soon rounded the corner as well, panting heavily. He quickly copied our actions and went into hiding.
"Shit, where did they go?" I heard one of the officers grumble. I had to prevent myself from giggling as they looked around like crazy and pointed their guns at every single object they saw.
"Damn it, maybe over there?" One of them suggested before they disappeared behind a bunch of cars.
I breathed out in relief and slid down the wall behind me. I first had to get used to the whole running thingy again. I mean, the last time we had run away from the police was like two years ago or something.
"That was a close one," Max whispered, exhaustion dripping down his forehead in form of sweat. He slid down the wall as well and leaned his head on my shoulder.
"Damn close," Leo grumbled and walked over to us before he sat down on my left and put his head on my shoulder as well.
"It was fun." I chuckled softly. "And tomorrow a train will drive around with our symbol on it."
"Yeah, you're right. I missed this. The adrenaline of the running and the joy when we see the trains driving around with our symbol." Max laughed.
"Damn, I missed you guys so much," I whispered and kissed their foreheads before I leaned my head against Max's one and closed my eyes.
'We missed you too,' was the last thing I heard before I fell into a deep slumber, and for the first time in a long while, I didn't dream of memories that wanted to drain me from energy, but instead dreamt of my bestfriends.
Of my real family.

Ring! Ring! Ring!
"Oh fuck, turn that off," Leo grumbled, his voice husky, as he rubbed his eyes.
"Where the hell- . . Oh, right." Max chuckled and stood up.
I quickly grabbed my phone, turned off the freakin alarm and took Max's outstretched hand to pick myself up from the ground. I mumbled a quick 'thanks' and ran my hand trough my hair in order to somehow put it in place again.
Leo also stood up, well he tried to, but he fell to the ground again and grumbled about how his butt would get a bruise now, which I laughed about. You know, he didn't care about stab wounds on his arms or legs, or even on his stomach, but when it came to bruises on his back or butt, then he would whine about it for centuries.
Because he apparently couldn't sleep or sit with them.
"Come on, princess," I teased and held out my hand for him to grap. He took it and as soon as he stood, he tickled me.
"Fuck, n-no. Stop!" The smile on my face betrayed me.
Damn, shouldn't have called him princess. He despised this nickname that I gave him a couple of years ago. It was because he had whined about his ice cream which had fallen to the ground, and I had given him mine - because since then I would tease him about it whenever I could.
"Tell me, that you will never ever call me that again," he said.
"No- .. . . " he cut me off by tickling my weak spot which was at my lower back. Don't ask why I was ticklish there, because I've got no idea.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fineee," I drawled out as a lonely tear rolled down my cheek. Finally, he let go of me.
"Damn, do you still hate the name so much? But it's cute!" I protested and gave him my best puppy dog eyes. Aww, puppies. I wanna hug one. I want a puppy, should I buy myself a puppy? I mean I could train him, or her, to become some kind of special mafia dog or something. Well, at least could I use that as an excuse to get one.
"It isn't," he muttered and walked off.
"Wait! Can I get a puppy? Pretty please! I really, really want one and I could train him, or her, to become some-"
"Fine."
"But please it would be- . . Wait, what? 'Fine'? Really?" I screeched, excitement sparkling in my eyes.
"Yeah, you can get a puppy," Max chuckled from behind me and swung his arm around my shoulder.
"We decided to give you one a week ago and we orginally wanted to surprise you on our anniversary day," Leo explained casually as if we weren't talking about my biggest dream, well one of my biggest dreams.
Our anniversary day was something incredibly special for the three of us. You see, because of specific events that I don't want to mention right now, we all didn't have the best memories about our birthdays. We didn't like them nor the idea of celebrating that we survived another year on this cruel earth. Anyway, we someday came up with the idea of celebrating something that's worth celebrating and something that all of us love.
So, we decided to kind of celebrate our years together instead of the years we survived on earth.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I sang excitedly and clutched myself onto them.
I will get a puppy!
