15-Confrontation

"I've been thinking about going to see my dad." Louis says a day later while they're in bed for the night.

"Okay?" Harry says encouraging and puts a hand under his head to support it.

Louis glances at him and bites his lower lip.
"Yeah, I need to confront him, and I want to see my sisters, you know?"

Harry caresses his cheek lovingly.
"I think that's really brave of you. I could go with you if you want me to but I totally understand if this is something you need to do by yourself." He says softly.

"You would do that for me? Come with me?" Louis asks.

"Of course. I would do anything for you. Do you want me to?" Harry retorts.

"Yeah, I could use the support. I don't feel brave Hazza." Louis confesses and swallows loudly.

"You're the bravest and strongest person I know." Harry says and pecks his lips.

"You make me strong." Louis smiles.

"You make me strong too. So when do you wanna go?" Harry asks and puts his head on Louis's shoulder.

"This weekend? Lottie has to go back home so I thought I could go with her." Louis suggests.

"Okay, but we can take my car so we can get home whenever you want to." Harry says.

"Yeah, that sounds good. Thank you, Harry. I love you." Louis smiles and hugs him close.

"I love you too." Harry answers.

They go downstairs the next morning and Louis announces his plans. Zayn, Liam, and Niall are all worried about him but they support his decision.
"What about William? We'll take care of him if you want us to."

"If it's okay with you Haz I would like to take him with us so my sisters can meet him." Louis says shyly.

Harry's heart swells.
"Of course love." He says proudly.

Louis has been on bed rest for a week as promised. Harry has smothered him, making sure that he's fed and well-rested and just cared for and Louis has secretly loved every second of it.

Louis gets to take his cast off later that day and the first thing he does as soon as they get home is to take a long bath and Harry joins him, which turns into a make-out session.

The next day Lottie says goodbye to Liam, Zayn, and Niall and promises to come back soon to visit. Harry and Louis put William in his car seat and Harry drives after Lottie. He takes Louis's hand in his.
"Nervous?"

"Terrified." Louis answers.

"I wish I could say that everything will work out but just know that whatever happens I'm right by your side." Harry promises.

The two-hour car ride goes by fast and Louis guides Harry into his old neighborhood. He looks around as they approach his childhood home. Everything looks the same. Lottie has already parked her car on the driveway and she's waiting for them. Harry turns off the engine and turns to look at Louis who's visible pale.
"Are you okay?"

"I don't know." Louis mumbles. His hands are shaking.

"We don't have to do this if you're not ready." Harry says, eyeing him in concern.

Louis takes a deep breath.
"Let's just get it over with."

They step out of the car and Harry gets William. Lottie approaches them. She looks at her brother.
"Are you okay?"
