Episode 22: Link VS Cloud (ALTTP VS FF7)

Wally grabbed the remote but was frantically trying to grab hold of it before pressing play. Gamefly was mentioned once again and the episode starts playing and the introduction shows the two swordsmen from the teaser from the other day.

"They're two of the most notable swordsmen in recent history, known for fighting monsters of all sizes."

"Link, the Hero of Legend."

"And Cloud Strife, guardian of the Lifestream."

Artemis whistled. "Wow, check out that guys broadsword."

"Must be over a hundred pounds," estimated Robin.

Oliver blinked at the image. "Hey, isn't that the guy that was with Zelda?"

Diana nodded. "Indeed. I would like to see what her Chosen Hero is capable of."

"Since both combatants use vast arsenals, in this scenario they will use some of their best stuff at the climax of their adventure."

No Outside Help (Summons, Fairies, Etc.)

"Remember, in Death Battle, there is no outside help allowed."

Boomstick's voice went high. "Aww, but they have so many cool summons and fairies." He went back to normal. "Well, too bad. This is a gladiator fight."

Megan raised a brow in curiosity. "Summons?"

"It's what the name implies," answered Zatanna. "The summoner brings forth another being to assist them in some way.

"I'm Wiz, and he's Boomstick. It's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle."

The first contestant was a warrior with blond hair and pointy ears. He wore a green tunic and a green cap, with white tights, brown boots, and bracer gloves. He wielded a sword and shield, facing all sorts of enemies.

"Link is Hylia's Chosen Hero to protect the land of Hyrule."

"Blessed by the gods, this fairy's spirit is reborn. You could say they are all linked... Haha!... to each other."

Some were confused at this.

"He reincarnates too?" asked Robin.

"I thought that was only with Zelda and the Demon King," added Kaldur.

"He's not a fairy, Boomstick."

"Are you sure? He's got pointy ears, wears tights, and uses magic. Hell, just look at that hair! Fairy!"

"Link looks more akin to an elf than a fairy," commented Artemis.

"He doesn't even have a wand, wings, or pointy crowny things," added Megan.

"When the Hero of Time was defeated, the sages managed to seal away a great evil, bringing back peace for a time."

Several frowned at hearing the hero being defeated but were glad that someone was able to stop the villain.
