"Guys, Halloween party at Brent's house," Bryce says during lunch. Did I mention he talks more now. Guess love really does change people.
"Can we put on matching costumes?" I ask Kayla. "Like Salt and Pepper"
"That would be nice Char...."
"But...."
"But Bryce and I are already going as a couple."
"Oh okay, guess I'll just have to walk around salty or get another costume."
"We can costume match" Eurel chimes in.
"What of Crystal?"
"She says dressing up for halloween is childish." Typical Crystal.
"Speaking of Crystal, where is she?" Dave asks.
"Not sure, she should be here any minute."

The bell rings signaling end of lunch and we all disperse to our classes. I go to my locker to pick a few books only to find Jorden leaning against it.
"Hey friend "
"Hey Jorden, what's up?"
"Nothing, you're good?"
"Yeah. Don't you have a class to get to?"
"I do but I want to drop you to your class first."
"Okayyy, why though?" I ask and he just  shrugs.
"Let's go, I'm not going to be the reason you're late," he says holding my hands and starts walking towards my class. So much for being "friends"

"Hey, do you have any plans after school?" Kayla asks as we are getting out of last lesson.
"Not any that....."
Ding!
I look at my phone and smile, it's a text from Jorden.
Jorden: Meet at the Basketball Court.
"Guess I have a plan." I reply hoping she hasn't noticed my cheeks turn pink.
"And that is?" she asks suspiciously, guess she noticed after all.
"I'm going to meet Jorden."
"What's with you guys anyway? You've become pretty close of late."
"Nothing, were just friends."
"Hmmm...friends. You don't even hang out with Dave that much and you hang out with Dave alot."
"And your point is?"
"Nothing....." she sings and skips to her locker. I roll my eyes at her and leave for the basketball court.
I reach the basketball court and practice has just started. I look so desperate to spend time with him.
I sit on the bleachers and fish out my earphones. I plug them in and listen to music while scrolling through social media.
I feel a tap on my shoulder, I look up to find Jorden looking at me with amusemet in his eyes.
"You seem so into whatever you're doing,"
"Reading a novel. I was bored."
"Didn't think you would come immediately."
"Well, you of all people know I have nothing to do after school"
"Good because we are going somewhere"
"Where's Ty? I have to tell him not to wait for me."
"Why?"
"He was my ride to school"

"Oh my god, that movie was hilarious. I've never laughed so hard." I say after our movie.
"Told you would love it"
After practice, Jorden took me for a comedy movie.
Now we are at Joe's Icecream Palour.
"We'll have the Raspberry Romance flavour large size. Two spoons please."
"Two spoons?"
"Yeah, we're sharing"
Normally I wouldn't be okay with sharing my icecream because I really love icecream but it's Jorden we are talking about.
We sit in comfortable silence eating our icecream. Hanging out with jorden is fun, it feels good to be around him. We have made progress in our friendship and I can't help but wish this friendship turns into something more. Everytime that I spend with him makes me like him more. I should be careful with these feelings beacause in the end, one of us is going to be hurt and that is obviously me. For now, I'll enjoy this "friendship" after all it is what I asked for.
"Do you miss London?" What a random question.
"A little. Thinking about it reminds me of my aunt so I avoid it."
"What was it like growing up there?"
"Uneventful. I was in an all girl's boarding school."
"What the fuck!"
"I know. It wasn't that bad though. Better than the movies show."
"Either way, I can't imagine myself in an all boy's boarding school."
"Of course you can't. You literally can't stay without girls." he winks and I roll my eyes at him.
"Tell me something else because your school life sucked "
"There is not much to say. I didn't have many friends, even the ones I had weren't really friends, just acquaintances. Every single holiday was spent with my aunt either touring, visiting her friends or doing charity work. No wild parties. No boy drama."
"So your aunt was that strict type"
"Not really. I was the boring type and a very clingy niece."
I spent the rest of the evening telling Jorden about London and my childhood. He made it a point to make fun of my boring life. It was actually good to talk to someone about my childhood without feeling sad about my aunt.
I like how Jorden easily makes me forget my sadness.
