Willow walked into a silent house. Normally Tara would be waiting at the door. This was weird, very weird. She called out to Tara.

No response.

She called for Faith.

No response.

It was starting to get scary. She walked up to the bedroom door, and wrinkled her nose. She smelt her emergency candle. That couldn't be good. She pushed the door open, only to see Tara's bleeding body on the bed.

"TARA!" Willow ran over to Tara, extinguishing the candle with her hand. "TARA!" She yelled again. She put her fingers onto Tara's neck, there was a pulse. She had to heal Tara again. Magic that powerful could tip her back over the edge, and she didn't want Tara's ghost to see her like that.

Willow filled a glass of water, and poured it over Tara as she started muttering Sumarian healing spells. She could see the gashes closing, and bruises disappearing. The real scars would be the emotional ones.

Tara's eyes fluttered open. "W-w-willow?"

Willow placed her hand on Tara's cheek "Yeah?"

"Where's Faith?"

Willow raised her eyebrows "She must've left before I got here. Why?"

"Because she did this to me."

Willow filled with a burning rage, how could Faith do that! She went to look for Faith when she heard Tara say. "Don't, don't let vengeance take you over. Look at what happened last time."

Willow wanted to hurt Faith, but that would hurt Tara, so she ripped off the fabric that bound Tara's wrists to the bed, and held Tara in her arms.

Tara curled Willow's red hair in her fingers. Looking at Willow was one of the few pleasures in life. Tara wanted to spend the rest of eternity in Willow's arms, but there was living to do, and Tara had 5 years to catch up on. Some moments didn't need words, moments don't need a past, just a blissful present and desired future. This moment almost made Tara forget about the morning,

Almost.

She could have died, again, and tipped Willow over the edge and onto the evil veiny side. That was unthinkable, even more painful than being tortured or dying. Tara wanted to sleep, but the bed was red with her blood. "Will, do we have spare sheets?"

Willow made a face "No..."

Willow waved her hand above the bed and the blood disappeared. Tara turned to Willow and said "That probably won't be the last time we need to use that spell." Then Tara burst into a fit of childish giggles.

Willow folded her arms, and tried not to laugh. "Tara." She sighed.

They lay beside each other, "Tara?"

"Yeah?"

"Can we enchant the ceiling to look look like stars?"

Tara kissed Willow on the cheek "Of course. But we need the big pineapple."

Willow laughed " I'll teach you the mythical constellations, if you teach me yours."

"Deal"

They lay ready for a peaceful night, but in the Summers' house, things were going from bad to worse.
