LILy's pov
Two weeks before my eighteenth birthday, I wished for time to speed up; I was eager to leave. I don't hate my pack, but I've never truly felt like I fit in. My mother promised that when I turned eighteen, I'd be allowed to leave for college instead of staying with the pack.
School was never hard for me, mostly because I always kept a tough exterior, warning others not to mess with me. I was scared at times, but whenever I thought about what happened to my father, my anger would take over, and I'd lose control of my wolf.
Getting up for school is always a struggle.
My mother makes a lot of noise just to wake me up, like I'm the unluckiest person in the world. "Mom, I'm awake!" I shout. She used to be a runner; she stopped when my father died but started again when I turned sixteen and got my wolf. I remember the first time I shifted, waiting in amazement as she transformed into a large white wolf with black stripes.
I'm only a gray wolf with white stripes. After about an hour of running, my mother and I shift back. I take a shower and get ready for school. I'm not bragging, but I know I'm sexy as hell, even in a baggy jacket, ripped jeans, and with my hair pulled back in a ponytail.
"Stay out of trouble, Lily. I'm serious," she says as I skip down the stairs, grab some breakfast, and kiss her goodbye. Most people stare when I walk into school, but I don't care. I stop at my locker, grab my books, and head to my first class as the rest of the day passes by.
