Damion and Rose watched in horror as the scientist with 035 on his face got up and looked at them. He just stood there, unmoving, until he finally spoke.

"Oh, thank God! Someone actually found me! Hehe".

He walked over to the locked door of the chamber, Damion and Rose's eyes following the whole time.

"I can get us both safely to the surface, just find the control panel in there and open the chamber doors for me".

They looked at each other and thought about what to do. Should they gas him or let him out? Could he be trusted?

"What, do you not...Oh. Alright, I admit it. I wouldn't blame you if you don't think I look trustworthy. But please, I need your help and quickly. the mask has been stuck to my face for some time now, and I think I need medical attention or it might kill me from the inside. Just let me out and I can find us an exit in a matter of time".

They still had to think, but they knew that the mask's patience was getting short.

"Alright, look. If you still don't think I'm trustworthy enough, there's a locked storage room behind you, you probably noticed that it's guarded with a 4-digit passcode. Inside is some useful equipment, as well as a pill of SCP-500. The passcode is 5-7-3-1".

Rose went to the door behind them and typed in the code. When she went inside, she found an extra loose gas mask and the remaining SCP-500 pills, ten in total. She smiled as she knew they hit the jackpot. As she was about to leave, however, the door slammed shut.

Damion looked back and tried to enter the code to open the door, but it didn't work. Knowing that it was that mask he turned around and was about to yell at it, but he saw something unexpected. SCP-1048 hopped onto the table and pulled the gas valve lever, flooding the chamber with gas. SCP-035 was heard coughing intensely.

"1048, what are you doing!?" Damion had screamed.

The teddy bear pulled out it's marker and wrote quickly on a piece of paper. He held it up and all it said was:

"That mask is lying and you know it!!"

Soon, however, the gas shut off and SCP-035's face seemed to have switched to tragedy. It spoke once more, with a demonic voice.

"So, you really don't want to leave this place alive, do you? You know there's no way a couple of lone D-Classes like you would make it to the surface safely, And even if you did, they'd gun you down the moment you came across their reticles. Then again, you..."

He pointed at the locked storage door and it opened and Rose stepped out. The mask kept talking, all the while pointing at Rose.

"You're more then you seem. You have so much power within you that you could destroy the Foundation at any time. Release that hidden potential and you will finally be free from both them and your past. Now then, I'll give you both one more chance here. Just open the chamber doors, and we'll forget about this little gas incident..."

They had complied without thinking as they didn't know what kind of power the mask had. As soon as they opened the door for him, he walked out, but suddenly turned back.

"I commemorate you for your help, but unfortunately, I never had any intentions of taking you with me, so this is where we part ways. But for the sake of my freedom, I have reason to believe that SCP-079 is taking control of the facility's systems, including the door control system. Your best bet is to appeal to it somehow. Hopefully you can come to a compromise and he'll let you take the easy way out, which is Gate A. The security is pretty high, but if you manage to sneak past the guards and reach the lower level under the bridge, there's an unguarded service tunnel. That's your way out. Well, I've told you all you need to know. Good luck and remember, Rose With Thorns, your true power has yet to be awakened..."

SCP-035 then walked out and the control room doors opened. Damion and Rose just stood there, dumbfounded. They just let out one of the most dangerous objects to ever walk the Earth without even thinking of the consequences. Still, it at the very least gave them a good idea of where they had to go and what they had to find. SCP-1048 hopped onto Damion's back and they walked out of there, going off to look for SCP-079.

As they walked along, they heard scraping sounds and instanly blinked. When they turned around the next corner, SCP-173 or "Billy", as Damion called it, was right there. All three locked eye contact with it, never blinking as they went through the next door. When they went through, they saw that they were at another checkpoint. This one was labled "Entrance Zone".

They both knew about this one. This was where they met in the cafeteria and where the class-Ds resided. They unlocked it and went through the doors, making sure to close the door back. As they walked through the well-lit hallways, they came across 3 offices. Apparently, they belonged to Dr. Gears, Dr. Maynard and Dr. L. Rose had remembered something.

"Hey, Damion. we can get into one of these offices!"

"Really? How?"

She pulled out a burnt piece of paper with a passcode on it.

"I found this while I was trapped in the pocket dimension".

"Wow! Nice catch!"

They went over to Dr. Maynard's office and input the code. When they went inside, they saw that the computer monitor was still on. They read what it had said and couldn't believe it.

Maynard: It's out...

Unknown: Proceeding...

When they looked on desk, however, they saw a piece of paper with something written on it that confirmed their theory.

"You made it TOO EASY. Nice work, Foundation."

Dr. Maynard, or whatever his real name was, had betrayed the SCP Foundation. It gave SCP-079 control over the facility and left it to go on a rampage. The burnt paper suggested that he was probably killed by SCP-106. Even if it didn't really concern them and as much as it made them feel sick to admit it, they felt bad for the Foundation.

Damion tore the paper to shreads and threw it on the ground, angry at the man who had caused them so much trouble, even from beyond the grave. They went out of that office and kept moving forward, eventually arriving at the electrical center...
