Chapter 9

2 days before the second task

Y/ns POV
I was standing with Hermione and Harry and all the sudden Hermione said "Harry you told me you'd figure the task out weeks ago! The task is two days from now!" "Really I hadn't noticed" Harry snapped back. Then he said "I suppose victor had already figured it out!" "Wouldn't know. We didn't actually talk about it" Hermione snapped back. "Harry, maybe Cedric would help you" I suddenly said. "Yeah well I don't know if he will" he said back. I can tell he's mad. 

Cedric then ran over and gave me a hug then went up to Harry and said. "Hey potter! Potter!" "How are you?" He asked. "Spectacular" he said sarcastically. "Look I've never really thanked you properly for tipping you off about those dragons." Cedric said back. "Forget about it, I'm sure you would've done the same for me" Harry said beginning to walk away. "Exactly, you know the prefects bathroom on the fifth floor. It's not a bad place for a bath. Just take your egg and mull things over in the hot water"  Cedric said while grabbing my hand then walking away after.

Flashback of the night before
Cedric told me to get my bathing suit and we went to the prefects bathroom. My bathing suit was a bikini that was black and white cow print. We got into the tub and sat in the tub and we began talking. He then took the egg and opened it and it was making the same loud noice Harry's made. He quickly closed it then moaning Murtle came and yelled at us. Then noticed Cedric was shirtless and stayed around us the bubbles were almost gone and that's when I had an idea. "Wait Cedric, open it under water and let's see if that makes a difference" I said grabbing his arm because I was excited. "Alright let's give it a go" he said back smiling. We then did that and it worked. "Oh my gosh y/n you're a genius!" Cedric yelled while he pulled me on top of him hugging me. I was shocked that he did that and after he hugged me I was shocked and just sat there. Then I leaned in and kissed him. He kissed me and pulled me in close by my waist until moaning Murtle coughed and we looked at her. I got off Cedric and he helped me out of the tub and he wrapped me in a towel and hugged me tightly again and kissed me. He then got a towel and put it around himself and we ran back to his room.

On the way back to his room we ran into George just sitting in a window cill. I told Cedric I was going to ask George if he was okay and he waited for me from a distance. "Hey George, what's up" I said standing near him while tightening the towel around me. He looked up at me and I could tell he's been crying. "Y/n, I miss you" he said standing up. "I miss you too George" I said while sighing and stepping back. "Come with me to my room please, we can work this out and everything will be back to normal." He said grabbing my arms. "George.... I need to go back to Cedric now." I said shrugging his arms off me and started walking back to Cedric.

The day before the 2nd task
After all my classes were finished I went to the great hall to study with Cedric. After we studied it was dinner time and Mcgonagall told me she needed me. I followed her to her office and after that I blacked out.

Cedrics POV
I haven't seen y/n since after dinner and I was starting to worry. I seen George and Fred walking and I ran up to them "Have you guys seen y/n? I haven't seen her for a few hours and I'm starting to worry." I said to them. "No but I wouldn't tell you even if I have" George said back. "If I see her I'll tell you" Fred said pulling George away.

It was the day of the first task and and I was down at the dock with the champions, all the teachers and Fred and George just came down. Remus came up to me and asked if I know what the mermaids took. "No I don't but have you seen y/n?" I asked. "Cedric. They took her. They took y/n. She's at the bottom of the lake and if you don't get her you're a dead man" he said to me walking away. "Did he just say y/n is at the bottom of the lake?" George said walking up to me. "Yes" I said looking down. "If you don't get her you're dead and you need to get there before Harry or he's gonna waste his time trying to get her even though he needs to get someone else." George said. I nodded and walked off.

George's POV
it was time for it to start and I was up in the stands with Fred and we were cheering, laughing and making bets but deep down I was a wreck. I know Cedrics going to get her but I'm still scared. It's been about 30 minutes and nothing happened. I really hoped nothing bad has happened. After about an hour we seen something. Cedric was up with y/n we were all cheering a lot and it was loud and I ran down to greet her. When I got down there I noticed they had just gotten to the dock. He helped her stand up and she fell into his arms then kissed him. She then went to see Remus but we locked eyes. She went over and gave Remus a hug then went over and talked to Hermione. After she talked to Hermione she went over to Cedric and he wrapped her in a towel together. That was enough for me after that.

Y/ns POV
I was really upset while I was waiting. Harry wasn't up yet. All the sudden Harry shot up. I ran over and I wrapped him in a towel and gave him a very tight hug. "Harry you scared the hell out of me! I'm glad you're okay!" I said hugging him. The twins went up to him after that and they smiled at me and Fred asked me if I was okay and I said yeah. Cedric then came over and congratulated Harry. "Attention! Attention! The winner is mr.diggory!" Dumbledore yelled. I ran into his arms and kissed him and he cheered and picked me up and spun me. "We've agreed to that if it weren't for his heroic actions he would've been first so we've agreed to give mr.Potter second!" Dumbledore said again. Everyone started cheering again and I gave Harry the biggest hug ever and kissed him on the cheek "I'm so proud of you Harry!" I yelled.

We started walking back. I was in between Harry and Cedric and the twins were behind us. "Hey y/n" George said. I told Cedric I'd catch up with him and he went off with his friends. "I'm glad you're okay" he said smiling at me. We started walking and then he said "are you and Cedric dating?" "Oh no we're not" I said looking over to him. "You guys kissed though" he said "uh yeah well we're talking, we're not dating though. I like him. Well kinda. I like you but I just don't know" I said quietly and stuttering. "Hey no matter who you choose just know I'll always be here for you and that I love you" he said and I stopped. "George that means a lot" I said looking him in the eyes. I kissed him on the cheek then went to catch up with Cedric.
