Chapter 6: I have to see her

*A few weeks ago*

I woke up with the sun hitting my eyes causing them to burn. I try to cover them cause Fuck! They burn bad. As I turn to my side, I see....Hugo laying beside me?!

"Good morning sleeping beauty. I was wondering when——" before he can finish saying anything, I push him off my bed and he hits the floor pretty hard. "Fuck man" Hugo calls out in pain.

"You have no right being in my bed Hugo" I tell him annoyingly. I hear Hugo start to laugh as he gets up and stretches. "How comr you like some bitches sleep in your bed and not me? I thought we were better then this?!" Hugo says sarcastically.

"Ever since I found Melody, I haven't slept with anyone else before" I say through gritted teeth. Hugo starts to roll his eyes and starts to laugh.

"So what are you going to do? I mean you just got up and left without saying anything to her. I mean do you know where she even is? Last time you saw each other, she was a senior in high school and you were a freshmen in college" Hugo tells me.

Fuck he is right. Things have changed over the last few years. I don't know if she is still in town. But that doesn't mean I'll give up on finding her. I quickly grab my phone and call a friend of mine.

"Hello?" My friend says on the other line. "Hey man, I have a favor to ask you," I begin to say.

It's been a few days since I called my friend and asked him to track down Melody. I know that it's bad to have someone track down Melody, but I have to find her and see her. I need to make it up to her

I was sitting behind my desk when I hear a knock on my door. "Come in" I say in a stern voice. I see the door open slightly and I see Hugo pop his head in.  "Chief, Johnson is here" Hugo tells me. I nod my head letting him know to let Johnson (my friend who is tracking Melody down) in.

"Hey Landon, long time no talk dude. How's life?" Johnson asks me as we shake hands. "Same old same old. Nothing interesting is happening at the station." I tell him.

Not only am I the Alpha to one of the strongest packs, but I'm also the chief of police that leads the most strongest police force in NYC. My pack works with me here at the station. I am not only the sheriff but I own a couple of hotels and clubs all over the USA. I'm a very busy man, but I always make time for my family and friends.

"So Alpha, I have news on your mate", Johnson says with a smirk. Johnson isn't a wolf. He is human but I trust him with my life that I told him about me being a werewolf. He kept my secret for 16 years now. "So tell me John, what do you have?" I ask curiously.

He looks down at the file he has on Melody. "Well, she is a senior at NYC and she is going to be getting her nurses degree in three years at nurses school." He looks at her file even more before he processes. He then looks up at me and says something very interesting.

"She is the new Alpha of The Golden rise Pack" Johnson says shocked. I was shocked too!

"Wait, wasn't her brother supposed to take over the pack?!" I asked confusingly. Johnson looks at me with sympathy before telling me. "An accident happened a few years ago....before you left," he says as he avoids eye contact. My heart starts to sink deep down.

"What accident?!" I asked sternly. Johnson looks at me before he says, "It's not my place to tell you Landon. It's not my story to tell. Only Melody can tell you." I take a deep breath in. He's right. It's not his place to tell me, only Melodys. But then I started to think a bit. "Where did you say she was going to school?!" I ask Johnson with a smirk. He looks back at me and returns a smirk back. "NYC", he tells me.

Before I say anything to Johnson, I call out to Hugo, "HEY HUGO, GET YOUR SORRY ASS UP AS WITH A FEW OTHER GUYS. WE ARE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!"

It's the first day of university and the guys aren't that happy about it. As I walked downstairs to where the guys are at, they all growl at me. "And a good morning to you" I tell them with a smile.

"Alpha, I don't understand understand why you have to drag us through this. We left school a long time ago. I don't want to fucking go back to hell" Hugo whines at the last part. I just roll my eyes and grab an apple before I tell them we are leaving.

Once we got to the school, I saw that it was very big. I didn't think that the school would be huge. Great, finding Melody will be harder then expected.

The boys and I head inside and they tell me that they want to eat some breakfast, since they missed it. "Alright, I'll go and look around and meet you and the guys for the first class" I tell Hugo before we make out separate ways.

As I was making my way through the hallway, I started to smell lavender fill up my nose. Me and my wolf started to go crazy. "She is here!" My wolf excitingly says. So I follow the scent inside the university library. As I walk deeper in there, the scent gets stronger and stronger until I see her

I couldn't believe my eyes. It is her. It is really her! It's been five years since I last saw her and she looks more beautiful then ever. She has her Ash blond in a layered wavy Bob. Last time I saw her, she had long wavy hair. But she looks even more beautiful with short hair. She has her back facing me so she can't see me, but I know she can smell my scent.

I make my way towards her and before she had the chance to leave I grabbed her waist and pushed her against the book shelf having her face me. She looks at me all surprised, that she wasn't expecting to see me. I study her face a little be more. My wolf and I are going crazy over her.

Before I know it, we are leaning towards each other and begin to kiss.

God how I missed her!
