Chapter 11: Healing Process

Noah's POV
I woke up to the sun shining brightly through the blinds of the hospital room. For a second I thought I was the patient, so I panicked a little, then realized I wasn't the patient and that Bailey was, so I panicked even more.

"Why are you breathing heavy?" Bailey mumbles, looking up at me. "And why am I here? Why does my body hurt so bad?" She mumbles, looking at herself.

"You don't remember anything that happened last night?"

"I remember hitting the wall and blacking out. Who won?" Did she have a concussion? "Oh wait. Nevermind. I remember Harper. Did you call me baby last night?" She called me out on that one.

"I'm glad your awake." I smiled down at her. She lifts her head up and places a soft kiss on my cheek.

"Thank you for staying with me." She says, moving her head onto my chest. The door opened and she layed there not moving as I ran my fingers down her back, she had goosebumps from me touching her back, or maybe it was how cold it was in the room. I don't really know.

"Goodmorning Bailey. I'm assuming you slept well. You're head still hurting?" A nurse came in and smiled. I looked at Bailey, she hadn't said anything about her head hurting. "You were sound asleep, I got a bad headache and I told her when she came in earlier. She told me I have a concussion. But no. I'm good. Can I go home now?"

"Tonight you can. Doctor is gonna wrap your side. Do you live with anyone?"

"No."

"Oh. I do suggest getting a roommate for about a week and a half to change that bandage to make sure it doesn't get infected. That was a very nasty crash."

"When can I go back to racing?" She asks.

"You can, but don't go crazy. Take it easy."

"Okay."

"Dont go for a win. Just drive the thing around the track."

"I can do that." She smiles.

About 10 minutes went by and she by was bored. Racing was all Bailey had. She did some mechanic work here and there for the people on the track, but that was about it. I was about to introduce her to gaming. I took out my phone and started texting Justin.

How's she doing?

She's getting stitches and she can race. She's bored out of her mind right now.

She's gonna race? Wtf?

I made her promise to take it easy. You meet me at target in like 5-10minutes?

Yeah.

I came back into the room and she holds out her arms.

"I need a hug." She pouts. I hugged her and resumed my earlier position. "You were gone too long." She says, looking up at me from where her head rested on my chest. Bailey's green eyes were sparkling like they always did. She was still the same girl I fell in love with a couple of months ago.

"Yeah?"I smiled looking down at her.

"Mhm. What's in the bag?" She asked. I had gotten so lost in her eyes I forgot about the bag in my hand.
