Loosely inspired by house of night and Percy Jackson, but not really, after all Greek mythology and vampire stories existed before those books came out.
Not! A fanfic but an original story
Set in modern day, a seemingly normal person gets attacked in an alleyway, the pupatrator apparently flees the scene and leaves the young male victim bleeding out (no name yet).
Some mysterious people find him and heal him, explain what happened: vampires are real, but they are not usually the pale, red eyed blood sticking monsters that they get portrayed as in old stories, neither do they sparkle or are incredibly overpowered.
[There is an underground society of vampires, they started existing alongside of humankind and have always worshipped the dark gods for strength. The oldest known vampire is an Egyptian pharaoh who, at some point has indeed lost almost all pigmentation because of the old rituals he used to take part in. He is the king of vampires.
Amongst the "elite" of vampires many are greek or Roman since after them the idea of multiple gods was basically eradicated in the western world. These vampires used to pray to nyx/nox to give them superhuman strength and everlasting lives (since nyx/nox is within Hades/Pluto's realm) as sacrifice for said powers, they would sacrifice their own blood.
After a while they developed fangs to pump blood from others into their own bloodstream. And gradually lost pigmentation from being servants of the night.
When the Roman empire fell and christianity began spreading, these beings hid themselves in order not to be viewed as savages or worse, demons.
In the dark middle ages a lot of vampires were burn on stakes as witches.
To regulate the growth of their society, and to ensure that there would always be enough resources, the elite court of vampires decided that every true vampire could only produce children every few hundred years, these children between two vampires (turned/true or true/true) would always be true vampires.
Turned vampires were still valuable assets to vampire society but regarded as less, since they usually had more sympathy for humans, as they had been them at some point.
However there was an exception, there were a few specific humans called bloodaides, who had a very high standing in vampire society. These people would produce excess amounts of blood of a kind that awoke the vampires hunger.
After all when the belief in them dwindled, the gods faded as well and without them the need for sacrifice, however especially the ancient vampires had gotten so used to drinking blood that their bodies didn't produce enough of it anymore.
At this point they now needed the turned because they would be able to provide for them. Since then a hierarcy has been built with elites at the top then trues, turned and then bloodaides however the hierarcy also works the other way around as the ones on top are directly dependent on the ones below them.
The older the vampire the more time they have to amass wealth, there isnt much sexism in the vampire comunity because although some of them come from a time at wich it was completely normal to undermine women, within the community there isnt so much of a difference between their sex, so no matter sex or gender, the general concenses of especially younger vampires is, that it doesn't really matter.
Of course the vampires who have lived for a long time would be believed to have stronger resistance against it however since they are repelled by the struggles that humanity puts onto themselves they try to keep everything as harmonious and simple as possible, certainly influenced by the fact that simple disputes coud lead to thousands of years of grudge.
In this world, there is also another beeing, a faery. A faery can be any male human. they are the product of a little mischiev that the gods Eros/Cupid (god of love and sex) and Eileithya/Lucina (goddess of childbirth) came up with, they "improved" a few of the normies.
Lol I don't even know wtf
