Chapter 5 - Lies, Lies, Pain & Pie

"Uhhhhhh well... erm... Harry's godfather died a couple days ago.."
"Awwwe. if you don't mind me asking, how did he die?" Aria asked. How the bloody hell am I suppose to reply to that?? I can't say that he was murdered by fracking Voldemort! Aria waved her hand in my face, knocking me out if my thoughts.
"Oh uh.. sorry. He died of.. Cancer?" I asked.
"You seem unsure." Aria said. ugh why is my bestie so bloody annoying!
"I'm pretty sur-" I was cut off by a voice.
"Hey guys!! Why's Harry crying?" I looked over Aria's shoulder to see girl with plaited, dark, brown hair, recognizable as Gemma.
"Oh um, AC.. I called G (they call Gemma G as a nickname) to come over too... erm... Anyways, Harry's godfather died of cancer." Aria said for me. Gemma looked at me unbelievingly but shrugged it off.
"Let's go to your room!" Gemma suggested. I looked at Harry who hiccuped and stared at his hands.
"You go hangout with your friends, I'm fine." He said. I hugged him tight and then stood up, following my friends into my room.
"I gotta go to the bathroom.." Aria said walking out of the room. Almost immediately after Aria left, Gemma whipped her head toward me.
"I already know that Sirius was killed, AC. You don't need to lie to me." I nodded and looked toward the door making sure that Aria hadnt come back yet.
"I know, it's just that I didn't want Ari (Aria's nickname) to know because then she would get all curious and ask millions of questions that we can't answer." after a minute of silence, I finally said, "I hate keeping secrets from Ari and Li (Lila's nickname)."
"I know, it's awful." Gemma said sadly. I looked toward the door again to see Aria peeping her head in.
"What's awful?" She questioned. As you can tell, Aria is the nosy and curious friend. -_-
"Errmm, Spinach! it's really gross!" Aria looked at Gemma suspiciously and then her eyes flicked to me. She entered the room and was about to shut the door, when my mom's voice shouted from the kitchen.
"GIRLS! DUDLEY! I MADE SOME PIE!!" Huge grins spread across all of our faces as we dashed through the door and began running down the stairs.
"PIEEE I WANT PIE!!" I shouted before I felt my foot fall down a little far, as it missed the step. I screamed as I fell forward and tumbled down the stairs. Pain shot through my arm as I landed on it.
"OMG!! ARE YOU ALRIGHT!!" Gemma and Aria bolted down the stairs to me, soon joined by Dudley. I nodded and held my arm. Gemma pulled me up to my feet as Dudley complained, once again.
"Why are you such a clumsy idiot? Watch where you're going!" Dudley pushed me slightly to the side and walked into the kitchen for pie. Suddenly I there was a sound coming from the door, DING DONGG. I rubbed my arm and stumbled toward the door opening it to reveal Lila. Her wavy, dark blue hair dyed with light blue ombré was tied into a high ponytail, and topped off with a plain white headband.
"LILA!!" I engulfed her in a tight hug, instantly regretting it as pain shot through my arm again. "aghhhhh" i groaned. Aria and Gemma then explained to Lila the story of how I fell down the stairs.
"I WANT PIE TOO!" Lila shouted. The strong scent of the pie hit me as I walked into the kitchen, causing me to smile even though I was still sorta in pain from the fall. My mom placed multiple plates on the table as we all took out seats. I looked at the plates which had large slices of sweet apple pie, with thin crusts around the side and ate the whole slice in less than a minute.
"AMBER! You need to eat like a girl! Use your manners!" My mom screamed at me. Geez, she should take a look at Dudley! He's basically inhaling the pie!
"Sorry mom, can I please have another slice?" She rolled her eyes and cut another slice, slightly smaller than what I had before, implying that I was gonna turn fat if I ate too much. Once again, she should take a look at Dudley. "I'm gonna go eat upstairs." I said, I began walking up the stairs after my mother gave me a talk about dropping crumbs all over the floor. I wasn't planning on eating the pie anyway, I was gonna give it to Harry since he hadn't been fed since he got home. I walked up the steps above Harry's old cupboard and entered Dudley's old room where Harry was. Harry was laying on his back on the bed, twirling his wand in his fingers. His eyes were red and puffy but he didn't seem to be crying anymore.
"Hey Harry, I brought you some apple pie." I gave him a small smile and put the plate next to him.
"Thanks.." he mumbled.

A/N

Okay, so I hope you enjoyed this chapter!! I made it a lot longer than the previous chapters and now I'm happy, haha. Once again, I'm sorry for my other chapter being really short. I was completely unaware of it until a few days ago.
As I typed this, I realized how annoying it must be to read the parenthesis telling you the nicknames and stuff, so here is a list of their nicknames:

Aria-Ari (Ar-e)
Lila-Li (L-ee)

Those are the nicknames for Amber and her friends, but if there are anymore nicknames in the future, I'll make another list. Anyways, I'll try to update by Wednesday!! Bye Bæs! xx
