Fengjiu woke up from the sunlight streaming down on her face. She squinted her eyes and nuzzled her face on the soft pillow.
'Sandalwood' In daze, she smiled and bask in the smell. Nothing in this world would make her feel better than sandalwood and citrus. She needed to find the exact perfume. If only she could bottle it. She breathed them in as if it was her life.
"It really smells like Dong Hua." She smiled at the thought of him.
At the mention of his name, her eyes flew open as memories of last night flooded her.
The bidding. The ball. The dance. His sudden change of heart. What even is that?
The attempt on her life. Saved by him. Riverside.
'Oh no!' She owes him again.
'Fine! I'll be your slave, Dong Hua Dijun! Where do you want me to work for you? In the office or your personal maid?'
Her jaw dropped. Is that a real memory? Did she say those things last night? Why is her head so fuzzy?
Champagne. Tequila. Her hand flew to her mouth. What nonsense did she spew last night while being intoxicated? And how did she end up in her bed? At their family home?
She cursed herself silently.
"Bai Fengjiu. Bai Fengjiu. What trouble did you cause again?" She said to herself. She groaned inwardly as she thought of Dong Hua meeting her mother or worse her aunt.
As she was trying to calm herself, her eyes darted at a black coat on her side. She reached it and brought it to her nose.
Sandalwood.

Sundays are an exceptional day at the Bai Family Mansion. It's the day wherein all the family members gather and spend their day with each other when everyone's in China. Also, Bai Zhi had made it to a point that at least once a month his children and grandchildren would all be present.
Today is the last Sunday of the month. For three Sundays, the gathering hasn't been attended by the family members completely. The disappointed Bai Zhi had mandated that all of the members must attend the last Sunday for the gathering.
Because Fengjiu was the only one who didn't made through the Sundays, Bai Zhi had asked her to be the gracious host for their lunch this day. Despite the event last night and a little bit of hangover, Fengjiu got herself out of her room to prepare for their little banquet. She also need to ask her uncle Bai Zhen what happened last night. She only hoped that his father or grandfather were kept in the dark.
She was descending their stairs when she heard the familiar laughter of her parents and grandparents. She sighed in relief. Perhaps, the event last night wasn't that bad. She smiled to herself and walked inside the vast kitchen. She could smell brewed coffee, the morning drink her aunt loves to.
