Chapter 9

As were walking from Em's house to the movies we're all laughing like idiots, even though Em and Brooksy are still being cautious trying to impress Kyle. The guys all end up falling behind talking guy stuff while us girls stay ahead talking about girl stuff.
"Do you think he's looking at my ass?" Em wonders to us in a whisper.
"I don't know. I know Chris probably is just like John is probably looking at Tasha's a-butt," Brooksy replies.
"Really?!" I say shocked and embarrassed. Then I think and look back. As soon as I do I see John and Chris look away.... But not Kyle. Wierd.
"So?" Em asks when I turn back around.
"Ya. They tried to turn and look innocent but it didn't work," I tell them but I don't tell them about Kyle. I know they'd get jealous.
"Haha they tried and failed. They know where we're gonna have to chew them out right?" Brooksy says.
"I think they think I didn't see them," I reply while laughing.
"Mhm hey there's the theater!" Em says.

When we get inside we buy our tickets. Then the guys go to get the food while we go to pick out seats.
"Kyle is soo sitting by me," Brooksy says while sitting.
"No he's sitting by me," Em argues.
"How about this he sits by Tasha and we play Rock Paper Scissors for who else sits by him," Brooksy states matter-of-factly.
"What?! Why me? Why can't he sit by both of you?!" I argue.
"Because your madly in love with John so you wouldn't have a problem with sitting by Kyle as to where me and Em will fight for his attention," Brooklyn states in her weirdly accurate and calm logic voice.
"Ugh, I hate it when you make sense!" I say resigned.
"Ok then! Em hurry lets go! Rock Paper Scissors! Haha! I win!" Brooksy says triumphantly.
"Dang it! Ugh you suck. Fine I'm next to Chris. Well he's my amazing super sexy boyfriend so," Em says upset.
"Yay! I win!" Brooksy says happily.

As the movie starts, I look around. The first thing I notice when I look at Brooklyn is how close she is to Kyle. The second is that Kyle has his arm on her upper thigh. The third is how Kyle was looking at me.
He was looking at me with a fire in his eye, kinda like he wanted me instead of Brooklyn. It made me shiver. With pleasure or disgust... I'm not sure.
During the movie, me and John held hands but I hardly noticed. I was more focused on listening to Brooklyn and Kyle making out. (God she's cheating on Steven!)
After we all left we realize that John and Chris have a ride waiting for them.
"Great, it's my mom. Dude we have to go," Chris says to John.
"Ok," he says sadly.
"Hey, I'll be fine. Promise," I say trying to cheer him up.
"Ok. I'll see you at school tomorrow. Be careful," he says with a kiss on the cheek.
"I'll walk them home and make sure they're safe," Kyle says to John (while looking at me.)
"Ok thanks dude. See at school," John replies warely.
"Bye!" I call after them as they leave.
