"The first time his eyes collided with hers, they start a fire deep in her soul, she knew will never extinguish"
War ended in summer, under the warm embrace of summer sun everyone is celebrating but her, don't get her wrong she agrees that this is good news, it's just she was born in war and was raised by it, it was like a family member, she doesn't know a life without, it will be strange not fighting for your life every day.
"Well come back home," her friend said as she walks in through the main city, the city she hasn't been in for so long,
"Yeah good to be home" she replied, as he wraps his arm around her shoulder, Hiroshi is one of the first friends she made, they met in training and stayed together since then, they fought together, made new friends, lost them to war, but one thing never changed, they changed, but their friendship didn't, somehow both manage to stay alive.
"General you seem sad, I thought you will be happier," he said, he always calls her general, sometimes he calls her princess to tease her knowing how much she hates it. When she became the general first thing she did was add him under her command; she can't even imagine fighting a war without him.
"I am so happy don't you see, I am almost flying with joy" she commented hitting him over the head, "The last person to reach the palace is a loser" with that she ran, they both somehow managed to keep their childishness alive too even after all the bloodshed they have encounter and participate in.
As they ran through the city, the market, it all looks so foreign to her, she doesn't recognize anything, this reminded her how she is an outsider and forever will be, even being born in this city didn't help, the city rejected her as his own like everyone else.
They ran through people running into things, people screaming at them but after a second all of this is behind them, Hiroshi didn't see a cabbage stall making it flip, as the cabbage man scream "MY CABBAGES", he ran to follow her leaving the cabbage man and his cries behind.
At the entrance of the palace Ryu stopped, the palace is the same as she left it, nothing changed still unwelcoming to her, in front of the palace stood her best friend Yua, she hasn't met her in eight years but wrote a letter to her every week, she had grown, she is a woman now and beautiful I may add, dressed is a light green dress her hair tight up, her kind green eyes shining in the sun, it took a minute for Ryu to take it all in, she had changed.
Yua looked around, looking right through Ryu, she knew that she was waiting for her, but she was waiting for the princess, the general, in a carrier with her men, not a girl running through the city with her long black hair flowing after her, with a soldier junior to her.
Ryu left her carrier and men behind at the docks, she has feet she can walk on her own.
"Yua" She yelled, Yua eyes scan for the source of the sound and landed on Ryu, not believe the friend she hasn't seen in eight years is finally standing in front of her, "Ryu?" she asked not believing her eyes.
"Yeah Yua it's me, it's been a minute" Ryu walked up to her friend and braced her in a hug, after few seconds her friend finally wraps her arms around Ryu, "Yeah it has been, I missed you so much"
"Me too, How are you?, you have grown up to be so pretty" Ryu broke the hug so she can look at her childhood best friend, "It has been eight years, I can't even believe you are finally standing in front of me," Yua said running her hand thought Ryu's hair.
"Here I am, how's Nanny?" Ryu asked, Yua's mother raised her, she was also the midwife who helps bring her into this world, "She is fine, just a little sick, she wanted to be here to welcome you but..." she left it hanging at but, "She is sick?" Ryu asked little worried, she is the closet Ryu every knew of a mother or a parent, "Nothing to worry about, she will be fine" Yua put her hand on Ryu's cheek.
