like ok, it's fine if you do it once or twice. But for some reason Hollywood can't make their own ideas and needs to recreate everything.
Like, have y'all seen the photos for the new Gossip Girl? I don't approve. Don't get me wrong, I love how they're adding representation, but I feel like Gossip Girl is a show that should be kept on its own. Like, if they had made a spin off of it where it followed the kids, I would've loved it. Who would be gossip girl in this case? Idk...
Also, I just want some new good shows. And yes, I understand we're in a pandemic meaning the likelihood of there being new shows popping out every corner is very low. However, doesn't mean we have to redo or recreate everything. Like I'm sorry, but the live action of Aladdin was not it.
Tbh, I wish there were some new shoes that our generation could have as our own. No, I'm not trying to say our generation has been stripped of its own things, because we haven't, but like come on I wanna have my own shows that are as iconic as Gossip Girl without them being just recreations of past iconic shows.
Anyway, that's all.
EDIT: so after a little bit thinking about it, I am excited for the reboot of Gossip Girl after seeing the video HBO released. I think I was hesitant about it just because it seemed there were so many redos happening at the time (at least to me), and I didn't quite understand why. But, I was just being dramatic and now I take back what I said about the reboot.
