Chapter 6

My vision went fuzzy and I felt sick as the negative energy rushed through me, All the sounds around me were muffled.
I clutched my chest and fell to my knees in pain. Goop started to pour over my body, as Nightmare was starting to cry. I cried out in pain as my body was almost fully covered. Everyone around stared in horror, watching as I became corrupted. Nightmare just stood there, watching me.
"B-Brother?~"

I hummed standing up.
"Why would you....why would you do that...?" Nightmare asked. I laughed hysterically. "WHY?!" I said. I pointed at Cross, and at the others that were Severely injured. "Look at this, this war. All of the blood that was spilled, the life that was lost, all of this! You should know this by now brother! There is no happiness without PAIN." I said attacking Nightmare harshly.

He dodged every attack. "Dream please stop this!" He yelled out. I grinned. "Stop? Oh my dear brother, do you know how many times I have told YOU to stop?! And what did you do? You never listened!" I shouted.

-No ones POV-

The others watched in shock as the lighter guardian continued to release his negative thoughts. The darker guardian pleaded his brother to stop with desperation but it was too late. The negative thoughts had overflowed the guardian as his corrupted form was complete. The others backed off but nightmare was fixed in his spot, staring at his brother as he was at his breaking point.
"You never thought how I would feel!" Shattered was ranting on, lost in his thoughts.

"You left me! After all you wanted was some respect and you finally got the chance! But you never took it!"
The others except for Blue, Ink and cross had ran off in fear.

Cross's POV

Everything started coming back together, I heard muffled shouting and crying. I blinked
a few times and everything came into perspective . I saw a skeleton, he looked like dream but was covered head to toe in goop like nightmare. I looked at anouther infront of the goopy one. He also looked like dream but was wearing purple and his circlet had a moon on it.

I tilted my head nervously, my ribs racked in pain as my soul was screaming at me to stay and rest. I saw ink and blue shivering in fear as they stared at the skeletons.
I sat up straight and mumbled,
"D-dream?"
The goopy skeleton turned around, he stopped shouting and suddenly looked worried.

"Cross? You need to stay down and rest." The goopy octopus said. "Dream is that you...?" I ask. He smiled at me. "Mhm, now please rest. You are hurt." Dream said. "What happened to you..?" I ask. Dream didn't reply. He gave me a gentle smile and then turned back around to face the purple skeleton.

"Look what you've done to him! He can barely even make a fist without great pain!" Dream shouted. "I...I'm sorry..." The other skeleton mumbled. "Oh NOW you say you're sorry?! After all those years you've been hurting me you didn't even BOTHER. You just smiled at all of the pain I was in, watched me suffer!"

"Dream who is that..?" I ask. He turned around and looked at me. "My horrible brother." He said. "That's Nightmare..?" I ask. "Yes, and I told you to rest Crossy, I'll handle this." Dream said. "Fine..but can you please s-stop yelling?" I ask. Dream smiled, "I'll try." He said.

  I laid back down but only slightly, I realised that everyone else had left, most likely because they were scared of dream. My skull was cracked and my soul was still stinging. Nightmare was crying and dream looked furious at him. He was trying not to shout but he clearly looked like he wanted to yell and hurt him. Dream was rambling on about something but I wasn't paying attention to him. I was more focused on ink and blue. They looked slightly scared but also looked a bit relieved about it.

"Blue I...need to talk to you." Ink says standing up. Blue stands up and they walk behind a tree.

3rd person (with the two)
"Ok so Dream is exposed, so what?" Blue said. "Yeah, but they might find out about us too. It's best if we remain cautious." Ink said. "Ok fine, I'll try to keep quiet." Blue said. They put on a smile and went back out there to sit next to Cross. "What was that about?" He asked. "Nothing, we just needed to discuss something." Ink said. Cross looked at them for a moment, and then went back to watching Dream

Nightmares POV

I just stared at dream in shock, I wasn't listening to anything he was saying. He seemed to be getting more angry and letting out more negative feelings. I realised that I was back to normal but dream didn't seem to care. When dream finally calmed down, he picked up cross.
"Let's go guys" He said, he had tried to sound firm and hold back the tears but it was obvious he just wanted to run up and hug me. He walked back through the forest with ink and blue trailing behind him.
