Chapter 9

Dreams POV

Ink and blue seemed quite off lately, they've been trying to get more time off which isn't like them. They are always willing to do as much work as possible. I've tried to ask them but they said they just have plans, even cross seemed slightly suspicious of them. My brothers empire also seemed slightly off, I've been sensing a lot of positive energy from them and they've been very inactive. The only person who hasn't changed much is cross. He still treats me the same despite everything that's been going on lately and always comforts me when I'm feeling down. He knows that what I want most is everything to go back to normal, me and Nightmare both back in our passive forms and both empires getting along. I don't believe that will ever happen though, he's asked me to go talk to Nightmare and try to settle things with him. Even I think thats a good idea however I've got way more work to do and less free time due to ink and blues absence.
Me and cross have been staying in my room alot, our guards still arent really used to my new form. We dont do much, we just talk. Cross has still been trying to persuade me to go and talk to nightmare but I still haven't got my head around. After a few weeks I got slightly tired of Ink and blue not being around so I decided to go look for them. I told cross and he wasn't happy about to, he said me they were probably just trying to get some stuff done now that I've been giving them the chance to go wherever they like. I didn't care though. At the evening while Cross and the guards were having supper, I snuck out through the back of the castle to try and find ink and blue. We don't have much area to search that's still within the castle grounds so I decided to go look through the woods. I tried to be as quiet as possible since anyone could be out there but I had a terrible feeling. I had the feeling I was being watched, I looked around but no one was there.
I decide to keep searching. A few minutes went by, I found nothing. I didn't want to give up yet so I went back to see if I missed anything. I decided to just give up but then, I felt someone come up behind me and put a cloth to my face. Everything went black.

Ink's POV
I wish I didn't have to do it this way..but I need to get him back to Nightmare. I pick Dream up and teleport him to the finished Au. Nightmare looks at me. "Just sit him down." He says. I nod and set Dream on the ground. Now we have to wait for him to wake up.

A few minutes later..
I notice Dream started to wake up, so I gave Nightmare a thumbs up. He ran over to the tree and stared at Dream.
"W-where am I..?" Dream mumbled. A few seconds later I saw tears form in his eye sockets.

Dream's POV

I looked around at the place. It..it's Dreamtale..I could feel tears running down my cheeks. Nightmare ran over to me. "Don't cry..!" He said. I wiped the tears off my face. "I-is this where Ink and Blue have been?" I ask. "Mhm, you like it?" Nightmare asked. I didn't say anything, I didn't move. I hesitated but hugged Nightmare. "Yes..thank you..." I say. Nightmare hugged me back.
We stayed like this for a few minutes, and then we let go. I get up and just take a moment to admire the work they put into this. "You know if you stare any longer it's gonna melt." Nightmare joked. "Oh shut up!" I playfully punched him in the shoulder. We look at each other for a moment and then laugh. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing.
"Did you plan all this...?" I asked
Nightmare nodded
"Killer, ink and blue helped a bit though"
He smiled but then stared at me in disbelief.
"What's wrong?"
He didn't reply, he smiled and began to cry. He hugged me tightly as if he never wanted to let go. I looked down then realised, I was no longer covered in goop. I hugged Nightmare back as I tried to hold back my tears. I didn't expect all this to happen at once. I saw blue and ink in the background smiling at us but I payed no attention to them. I just thought of nightmare and thought of all the wonderful memories we had together. Eventually, I ended up drifting off in my brothers arms

"I love you brother" I hear him whisper
