I looked up and saw them climbing into his Jeep. I backed out of my parking spot pulling up close behind them still leaving plenty of room for him to get out in front of me. I followed him for a while ending up in the nice part of town. The houses out here are gorgeous and like nothing I've ever stepped foot in. I parked next to Zeke hesitating just a moment before getting out. Lexie already went inside leaving out out here alone. Zeke walked up next to me.
"Beautiful isn't it?" he asked.
"It really is, this is the nicest place I've ever seen if I'm being honest."
"Well, I do appreciate honesty."
I looked at him and he had a small smile on his face.
"So you ready to meet everyone else?"
"How many people am I meeting exactly?"
"Well you already met me, and Lexie. So that leaves Asher, Ethan, his twin brother Issac, and the owner of this gorgeous place Miles."
"Have you all been friends a while?"
"They guys and I have. They're a bunch of knuckle heads but they're great."
"So when did Lexie come into the picture?"
"When did the two of you get together?"
"What? Were not." his voice was pained.
"Oh, my mistake. I just assumed. I should know better than to do that, I'm sorry."
"That's okay, most people assume she's with one of us. So the guys, they're very nice and mean well. You can be honest with them about whatever, they can take it."
"Okay, I can do that." I said, still looking at the beautiful landscaping.
"Alright, follow me."
We walked into the house and it is just as beautiful on the inside. The whole place smells of warmth and spices, I breathed in deep. The sound of chatter making its way to me. I made sure my guard was up and tight, my nerves in overdrive. We get into the family room where Lexie is sitting chatting with a blue haired boy. I think I heard her call him Cookie Monster. There is another guy standing near her with black hair and glasses listening intently. They looked up as Zeke approached. Their eyes snapped to me and then back to him, their expressions almost angry.
"Where's Ethan and Asher?" Zeke asked.
"They're in the kitchen." Said the guy in the glasses his tone was curt.
"I'll go get them," Lexie said, getting up from the couch. "You two," she said looking at the boys "need to chill, and let Zeke talk before you get all pissy."
She left the room and tension still thick eased up a little. I stood tall not giving a hint of my nerves.
"Bro, whatever it is that you're saying. It better be good." the boy with the blue hair said. The guy in the glasses just kept to himself.
Zeke didn't say anything, just gave him a look and he sunk back into his chair. That's when Lexie came back into view shadowed by two more guys. One an exact copy of the blue haired boy but with brown hair and piercings. The last to enter was a boy with blonde hair and with a very boy next door style. He was wiping his hands off on a kitchen towel, I can guess he's the one making whatever smells so good. They both gave me an apprehensive look. What a warm welcome I'm getting. They all took their seats and Zeke started his speal.
"Everyone, I want you to meet Fae." he gestured to me.
One of the guys went to say something but Zeke shot them a look and they shut up.
