You were currently heading down the stairs of your school, Hopes Peak. Many students dashed down the stairs as if it was a race as the school day had just ended but you waited for the other students to go before going yourself to avoid any interaction, soon enough the stairway was clear from other students. Well, that's what you thought. You were going down the stairs to see a girl with long braids sitting on one of the last bottom steps. You recognized her immediately as one of your class mates and bestfriend, Toko Fukawa. You then heard muffled sobbing coming from her direction, the sound increasing the closer you got. Your natural reaction was to quietly rush down the stairs to make sure she was okay, though as you went down another step, it let out a loud creek and the girl immediately looked back at you causing your eyes to widen.

You saw as she threw her head backward toward you and you then began to see her bruised but puffy eyes with cuts on her cheek and the tears dropping off her chin and onto a piece of paper she had, making it even harder to read from your point of view. You were in total shock that Toko Fukawa, the Ultimate Writing Prodigy, was crying. "Ar-... Are you okay?" You asked, stuttering a little due to pure shock as you were in worryfilled sorrow from such a sight. She didn't give a response but instead just threw her head back, trying to avoid me. You just went down the stairs, sitting on the step next to her. You began to read the letter she had:

Dear Y/N,

Meet me at the Sakura Tree, I have something I need to get off my chest.
                                     Fukawa, Toko.

You were surprised at the letter but looked back at her for an explanation, using your explain right now but worried face that you normally used.

I tensed up when I looked back at them to see one of their faces, this one indicating that they wanted an answer. I didn't want to confess this way, all bruised up and on the stair steps. Though, I still didn't know which they wanted me to explain, the bruises or note-.

Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted by their soothing voice "I'll ask about the note later.. Let's get you fixed up, are you okay..?" their voice a bit shaken but calming enough to put a little smile on my face, though they were too concentrated on my bruises to see.

I realized I had myself caught up in their perfect E/C eyes, then blushing and looking away, t-they probably t-think I'm the u-u-ugliest girl they've ever seen..! Mid thought I had noticed the silence had made them seem a bit more worried, so I decided to break it. "Y-Yea, I'm o-okay.. I'm s-sorry that y—y-..you had to c-comfort an u-ugl—.ugly g-girl like m-me.." I once again stuttered like I usually do, wishing I had the speech confidence like the girls in my story's.

I of course had gotten too caught up in the negatives to realize that a positive was active, which of course was my classmate, bestfriend, but most importantly, crush, was hugging me. I blushed at the sudden contact, but after acknowledging it I gave in and hugged them back.

I never wanted to let go, 'to be so close and to share comfort and warmth with the one I so treasure', one of the lines from my upcoming book. Though, eventually we had to part. Y/N was the first one to do so, as they got up and lended me a hand. I blushed at the sudden invitation, completing my face of blush, but still took it and got up. I was so cold before, but their hand had sent a warm sensation up my body, which felt better when we had to step out onto the December filling outside.
