"Nonono! Stop! Dont hurt him!" I got in between the tall guy and Koshi.

It was quiet. The group looked at me like I was crazy. I dont blame them.

"H-hes mine. Hes my zombie." I told them as I helped Koshi up. Koshi looked at me like I saved the world and gave me a hug. "See completely harmless."

"How do you know he wont eat you?" A brown haird guy with glasses asked.

Koshi shook his head no with a frown. "I've been with him for 2 weeks or so, he hasn't even tried to hurt me." I told the group and Koshi nodded along to what I was saying.

"Where are you headed?" The guy with glasses asked.

"The safe zone. It's on the other side of the city." I told them.

"So its true." The red head said.

"Do you know how to get there." A white haired guy asked.

"Yeah." I answered. They all looked at the glasses guy and he looked to be think.

"You can come with us." He said.

"Actually I'd rather not." I told him.

"Well didnt expect that." The red head laughed.

"Theres a school not far from here that we're staying in. Tomorrow we'll all leave for the safe zone." The guy with glasses said.

"Ok deal." I shrugged.

"Great let's go." The white haired guys said.

After that we left and while we walked they introduced themselves. The white haired guy was Harry, the glasses guy was Lawrence, the red head was Zion, the tall guy was Ethan and the short blonde was Eugene.

"So what's your name." Harry asked.

"Oh I'm M/n and this is Koshi. He doesn't really talk." I said and Koshi smiled happily.

"Oh shit." Zion said from the front of the group. "Its a snail."

Koshi and I looked at each other with smiles on our faces.

"We gotta go the over way." He said.

"What do you mean it's a snail." I chuckled as I walked past them and around the corner.

"Heyhey." I said to get the giant snails attention.

I got a couple carrots out of my bag and handed a few to Koshi. "Here boy." I whistled and the snail came over to us. I held up a carrot to it and it happily ate it.

Koshi and I fed the snail carrots and pet it while the other guys came over to us. They all looked weirded out.

"This day keeps getting weirder and weirder." Eugene mumbled.

"I didnt know snails came into the city. Its no surprise thought." I said.

"What do you mean?" Harry asked.

"Well some of the mutations are friendly. In certain breeds like snails it more common. I haven't seen one snail that wasn't nice but sometimes they get  bullied by the others. Zombies however I didnt think it existed in them, until I met Koshi." I explained.

"So you know a lot about the mutations then?" Lawrence questioned.

"Yeah I was taught by a very wise old man." I chuckled. "Well we better keep going. Bye snail." I waved goodbye and so did Koshi.

Our journey continued and we got to the school pretty quick. Koshi and I changed then we all met in a classroom.

I was talking with Lawrence about the safe zone. He seemed to be their leader and rightfully so. From what I could tell he was smart.

"Hey guy were- l/n?"

I looked up from my map and saw Judy and Mc standing in the door way. My eyes widened and my smile grew. The two ran over to me and gave me a hug.

"I cant believe your alive." Mc said.

"Its good to see you too." I laughed.

"You guys know each other?" Zion asked.

"Yeah I tutored them." I answered.

"M/n is a freshman in college studying to be a botanist." Judy flexed for me. "Which means hes really smart."

"What the fuck is that!" A girl screamed as she spotted Koshi who had taken his shirt of to show Ethan and Eugene his stitches.

"That's my zombie." I told her and Koshi smiled.

"What the fuck?!" She was in complete surprise. "First you bring home her." She pointed to Mc. "Then you bring back him and a zombie?"

"Hey!... hes my zombie." I walked over to him and put and arm around his shoulder. "See this." I pointed to the stitches. "I did that."

"Well done." Zion laughed and clapped his hands.

"I'm m/n by the way and this is Koshi." I told the girl and the guy standing behind her.

She scoffed at me then stormed out. The guy that was behind her just looked at me weird. "Your crazy man." He said then left.

I looked around the room then at Koshi. "Put your shirt on mate." I told him and gave him a pat on the back before going back to Lawrence.
