Solene

It's been a week since the first shoot.

But seriously! 'Maggy'?

"This is honestly record-worthy."

My attention drifted back to Kai when I heard her speak. Napangiti ako pero hindi naman din sumagot. I just watched her look at the piece of paper closely before she sighed.

"Gosh, Sol! You write such good lyrics! At ang ganda pa ng melody!"

I saw her attempt to tap the replay button of my phone but before she could even do so, I already took it from her.

"H'wag mo nang i-play ulit! Nahihiya na 'ko," sabi ko bago tumawa. Totoo 'yun. There's something so uncomfortable about listening to my own voice from the speakers. Lalo na kapag may ibang nakikinig din.

She rolled her eyes.

I looked down on my screen.

I write songs. I've been writing since high school. I finished writing the song I've been working on these past few weeks. I consider this my best piece so far. Pakiramdam ko, ibinuhos ko dito lahat.

"Of all your works, this one is my favorite."

Muli akong napatingin sa kanya dahil do'n. She's giving me a genuine smile. Solene, people need to hear this."

Her first few words touched my heart but the last ones rendered me speechless. She has never said anything like that ever.

I smiled back hesitantly.

"I don't know, Kai.

That was true.

Kai didn't respond because she knows exactly what I'm talking about. I tried to do a wacky face para sana matawa na lang kami pero hindi 'yun tumalab sa kanya. She squinted her eyes a bit, until she came up with an idea.

"I can sing it."

I paused, obviously wasn't expecting what she just said. She averted her gaze.

"I-I mean, only if you agree. I can sing it in one of my shows. And then I can tell them you wrote it."

I let the information sink in. We never thought about that before, or even if we did, we never voiced it out.

"Sige ba!"

I nodded at her to show my sincerity. I wrote the song, and she'll be the one to sing it. I'm okay with that. It's actually a great idea.

She grinned widely before shrieking.

"OMG!" niyakap niya 'ko. "Thanks, Sol! It's about time.
