Solene

I poured out everything I had, and everything that I was feeling deep inside, into that kiss. But it was barely even five seconds when I pulled away. I gently stood on my feet when I realized I was tiptoeing. I also loosened my grip on his chest when I noticed I was holding onto him that way. Nang tumingala ay una kong nadatnan ang gulat sa mukha ni Max, halatang hindi pa nakakabawi.

My heart pounded. His reaction made me nervous, but I wasn't feeling an ounce of regret.

Nakita ko ang dahan-dahang pagparte ng mga labi niya. I braced myself for what he's about to say. Kung magmumura ulit siya gaya ng nangyari kagabi, maiintindihan ko...

"W-was that a yes?" was the first thing he said. "It better be a yes because I swear to God, Maggy if you just did that for no rea-"

Finding my voice, I sighed and cut him off. 

"Ang dami mo namang satsat, Villaverde."

That made him shut up and stare at me in disbelief. Tila hindi siya makapaniwala sa inaasta ko ngayon. Medyo nagsalubong pa ang mga kilay niya. 

"Who are you right now?"

Halos matawa ako sa tanong niyang 'yon. Kulang na lang ay isipin niya na may sumapi sa'kin dito na kung ano. Gano'n ba talaga kahirap paniwalaan na sinasagot ko na siya?

"I'm your girlfriend," I simply stated, still feeling the rapid beating in my chest. There. Kinlaro ko na pero wala akong nakuhang sagot. Napakunot na ang noo ko. Ano ba'ng problema niya? I've said yes two times and he still wouldn't believe me!

"Kung ayaw mo, edi h'wag."

Plano kong iwan na siya ro'n at talagang hahakbang na 'ko para lagpasan siya ngunit bago ko pa man 'yon magawa ay siniil niya na 'ko ng panibagong halik. For the second time around, our lips touched!

"Mm," a gentle sound escaped from me when his other hand ran up my spine, pulling me even closer. However, that's also when he broke the kiss abruptly. He was catching his breath as the light from the lamp behind him hit my face. Sigurado akong kitang-kita niya ang namumungay kong mga mata, pati na rin ang namumula kong mga labi dahil sa malalim niyang halik. His eyes moved up and down, as if taking in a rare sight. A ghost of a smile then appeared.

"Wala nang bawian, Eljambre."

Hindi na 'ko nagtangkang itago pa ang malapad na ngiti. I wrapped my arms around his neck, burying my face on his chest. Ramdam ko ang pamumula ng magkabilang pisngi. I felt him kiss the top of my head, and somewhere in that moment, I think I even heard him whisper 'I love you'.

The night ended nicely for the both of us. We still chose to sleep in separate rooms, though. I was glad because I really needed some time alone to process what just happened.

So, I have a boyfriend now...

That boyfriend is Max Villaverde...

and...

We kissed... twice.

Tulala akong napaupo sa gilid ng kama. I absentmindedly touched my bottom lip, where I could still feel the presence of his. Hindi naman siguro 'to panaginip lang, 'no? Kasi kung oo...

Nagising ako kinabukasan gawa ng katok na nanggagaling sa pinto. I covered my eyes when the first thing I saw was the view from the window. Maliwanag na sa labas at pumapasok sa bintana ang sinag ng araw.
